    I was looking at more stuff last week,and may be dealing on a few,55 olds two door hardtop,and this ford,Is it a 60 or 61?I know someone posted something similar not long ago,but cant find one excactly like it on ebay or anywhere.It needs some lower patches,but alot of stainless is inside it,and the interior looks complete and good,the motor turns over by hand,but thats all anyone knows about it.what size motor would this be?292,289?Its a galaxie not starliner,still working on a price,not quite my brand,but the more I looked it over the more I liked it.any help appreciated.Its pretty cool..

    292 would have two center valve cover bolts, 289 has six bolts around the edge of the valve cover.

    I believe FE valve covers have 5 bolts. Definitely FE if the valve cover sits on top of a portion of the intake manifold-- only FE did that.

  11. It's definitely NOT a 289. Those were intro'd in '64, and only on Mercury for the first year.
    Check the engine code (door latch panel, IIRC).
    V = 223/145hp-6
    W = 292/185hp-V8
    X = 352/235hp-V8
    Y = 352/300hp-V8
    R = 352/360hp-V8 (rare!!)

    Hey Patrick,
