1963 Chrsler 300 Convertible "Indy 500 Pace Car" My Grandfather bought it new, and had to wait 2 days for the dealership's body shop to buff off the "Official Pace Car" lettering off the Doors. in 1966 he traded it in on a new 1967 New Yorker with the "NEW" 440, my dad went to the dealer (Balzekas, you will like us!) that day and bought it, argued tehm down to what they gave my grandfather on trade in.

My Mom and Dad were married in '64, and left the church in a black over red 64 Dodge low compression (If you can call 11.5 to 1 low) 426 Max Wedge, it was my uncles daily driver at the time!! It was about 3 months old at the time, bought from and tuned by none other than Mr. Norm himself.

1962 Cadillac Convertible from the Naval Base Hospital in Key West, Fla. Almost 100 Degrees that morning. Doc made them wait until night to bring me home.

  7. It would have either been my dads 56 Jag XK140 or more likely mom & dads 56 Desoto. I'll have to ask mom. My son came home in a 68 Camaro SS396 & daughter in a 66 GTO.

Mine was made from a flour sack. Don't think mom knew of any 'tailor made' ones at the time. We could tell when she was expecting again, when she started cutting up old shirts and such into that particular sized rectangle.:D

The car was a '30 chivvy coach.

Don't remember what I came home in, but I brought my daughter home in a '67 GTO. She was in her first street race at 14 days old.
