Thought I would join up here as I found a part I want in the classifieds and I think I recognize one of the members here as b-man from Performance Years. Anyway I live in San Diego, CA but often go out to Michigan around the Utica area. Now to the point. My dad passed away about 5 years ago when I was turning 17. He has a '29 Model A Cabriolet, a '33 Ford Prospector pickup, and a '47 Harley Knucklehead, all kept relatively stock except the truck has a '53 Mercury 255 flathead in it. I have a '66 GTO as my own resto project. I'll post pictures in a bit. I don't know if this is the right forum for me to ask questions about the two antique cars but hopefully there are some helpful people on here. Basically my plan is to fix up the Model A to good running order and sell it. Take a small bit of that money and put into the truck to get it running and driving, and maybe restore my GTO if I can. I am having a hard time looking for performance parts or even regular parts for the truck. What my plans would include is something quite basic. Offenhauser double deuce intake, a matched Holley 94 to the one that is already on it, and front disc brake conversion. I'll be putting some basic headers and making my own custom dual exhaust with glasspacks, as I hear these flatheads sound best with glasspacks. I have no idea where to find a front disc brake conversion for the truck. I basically want to make it a hot rod sleeper. Onto the pics: Sorry for the long-winded post but I figure I might as well get it all out. Thanks.
Haha yeah, my dad and I were going to hot rod the truck out, I'm glad he put that Merc 255 in it though. I'll probably leave the body uncut and leave that truck top on it for character. I'll repaint and pinstripe it though, the truck has obviously been rattlecanned.
