Projects drug home some field cars today, pics inside

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by INLAW MODEL A, Dec 6, 2009.

  1. My dad and I went to look at a 1949 Ford Coupe and a 37 Chevy 2 door on Saturday that were bought 7 years ago by my buddy but were never picked up. He said he needed to get them moved soon. I was interested in buying the 49 if it was nice but he was of a little on the year and body style. It was actually a 1946 Ford Tudor sedan:eek:. I talked to my buddy again and he said he really did not want the cars anymore and was going to ebay them. Since he had no way to haul them himself we struck a deal and I will be selling them for him. We went back today with some equipment to load them and pull them out of the field. It was fairly easy to do even though they were already froze into the ground. Once we got the Ford in the air we could see it was pretty solid after sitting so long. When we got it home, we got the hood open after a call to a knowledgable friend. The inside latch was froze. We saw it was a complete and intact under the hoood. The Chevy is a little rougher but not bad. Both will soon be in the cl***ifieds. I just wanted to share the find.
Here are some pictures of loading and hauling
I also bought a 50 Ford Fordor from friend for the flathead, it is pretty rough though. There are 2 dead things in it that have been there a long time: a rabbit on the left front a arm, and a **** in the trunk.

I would try to get the complete one running and driving with out putting to much money

  8. Yes I agree. That is what I told my dad. I have wheels and tires. I need to see how the engine is. If it is not stuck, I want to get it running.

It was not that cold today. It was around 20 degrees, and no wind!:D

  10. Pretty clever to hold off untill it got cold and snowy. No problem with snakes now!

  11. Funny you said that Rich, because I was inside the Ford trying to open the trunk from the inside and it is full on snake skins. And dead mice, and tiny tiny mouse skeletons. Yuk!

Were you able to get them sweet mini vans in the background as well?

Totally cheating using a lift to load them instead of hours of winching on old rotted non rolling tires!
