I don't know if you guys saw this but I stumbled across it in another forum...pretty cool! http://members.cox.net/rgmessner/coke.mpg
Thats on HIT man!!!!! Now I wanta coke cause that greaser guy looks like he might want one to!! really though KOOL commercial
Hey thats me on the ****ter!!! wow, who knew my 15 seconds of frame would be doing what I love the most!
This has been posted a couple times already. It's cool but who did it and why? It's definitely a "fake" spot because A) the hot chick is flipping the bird and B) there is no product placement anywhere until the end. Fake. So why Coke? Why not PBR like was mentioned in one of the other posts? Really though, it is just a spot for Viva. The Coke placement is an afterthought. Yeah, I get paid to ask these kinds of questions. I am especially looking forward to Viva now though!
[ QUOTE ] It's definitely a "fake" spot because A) the hot chick is flipping the bird [/ QUOTE ] You can barely tell. But that's nothing anymore...not sure what the FCC would make of it. [ QUOTE ] B) there is no product placement anywhere until the end. [/ QUOTE ] This one don't mean ****. Product placement isn't what it used to be - I've been overseas for 4yrs now & thought only Europeans had silly commercials with no product placement, but I just got back from 3 weeks in the states & I saw more than my fair share of commercials that left me scratching my head "WTF was that a commercial for?" with NO product placement & no "hook" of any kind, so product placement at the end - I wouldn't count that for much, if anything. Back to the chick with the bird - in the other posts, folks made a big deal about it, but I honestly don't see it being a big deal. Aside from Carlin's 7 words you can say on TV (****, piss, ****, ****, ********er, mother****er, & ***s), there isn't much sacred anymore.
There are plenty of ads over here with no placement at all until the hook-line at the end. A recently poll of 100 fave ads on TV (no ****, we're that sad) voted a Guinness ad No1 that featured an old surfer dude and some horses. The drink didn't appear until the last two seconds. Before then, you'd never have known. Makes me think of the first ad that Homer paid for when he was 'Mr Plough'. I reckon this coke ad will only to shown in cinemas.
That commercial was done for the Dutch. It was done by a guy who was at VLV from Amsterdam. The tall dude is my buddy Ryan, who is a lurker and is building a 1950 Packard. Maybe he will get on board and say hola. He is a good kid and has the right drive and ideas. Don't let his fashion sense fool you, he is a diehard gearhead.
[ QUOTE ] I was the one on the ****ter doing Coke... [/ QUOTE ] Hey, cool, I was the one on coke doing a ****
I dig that spot, but I'm glad it's not playing in the States. Broadcast TV is way more mainstream thatn I care for - maybe they could play it on the Discovery Channel
Aye Chinga! Most of the knuckleheads in that spot are from Phoenix and are freinds of mine. Kooky stuff.
Ok, ok, let's get to the really important question... Who the hell is the hot chick flipping the bird and does she like Canadians??!!! Yowza.
Of course it's a real ad.. didnt you hear the first line of that song ? Grab your Coke and lets start a' walkin
