what am I missing on this 41 ford hood latch

Im trying to align the hood fenders and grill on my 41 ford. I installed the grill with the top brace I think is for a 41 ford. but it looks like the brace sits farther back then the latch on the hood by about 3 inches. What am I missing? do I have the wrong top brace?

You have a 40 grille brace, the crossbar on the grille brace for the 41 PU is farther ahead.

Where can I find a 41 ford grill brace?

 

In the nose of a 41 Ford Pickup or Panel truck. The 41 had the bar moved forward to allow for installation of the NEW flathead L-6 engine.

Seriously, just modify the one you have to work.
