This was standing at a friend's place for a while because of a deal that went wrong. Some other guy found it and sold it to someone in Oz as a 5-window Ford!! - needless to say the purchaser wasn't too happy with what he saw & wanted out. My buddy & I were chatting & since he is in a dodgy area he didn't want meth-heads coming over the wall for s**** when he shuts up for the holidays (and doing some other snooping while they were there) Long story, but it's mine now - guess I'm lucky I've been trying to learn metalshaping for the past couple years!!! Even so, as far gone as it is, we don't find too much of anything remotely resembling a coupe over here. Like I needed another project! Anyways I won't be getting to it for a while yet - just thought I'd show. Incidentally, couple of guys said '35 Plymouth, but the details around the cowl/beltline are the same as a car I did some work on a while back that was identified as a'33 Dodge by the owner - anybody got something more definative? Thanks Barry
Barry, looks like a 33 or 34 Dodge or Plymouth. Take a look at this link and look for Dodge and Plymouth. http://www.carnut.com/photo/list/list.html
If it was originally sold on the Continent, it may have been sold as a Chrysler Kew or Wimbolden, but is a Plymouth re-badged for European sales. Best bet is to match pics, but that may not tell you what it was sold as "back in the day". Cosmo
What you have looks to be a 34 Dodge, 33 did not have the skirt behind the front wheel and from the grill it apears to be Dodge not plymouth. If there is 2 holes at the top front of the grill to hold an emblem this will tell you it is Dodge! PRAISE MOPAR
I'm not a traditional guru (just a noob at the moment), but didn't the 33's have the instrument cluster centered on the dash and the 34's had it to the left side (drivers side) in the US. That might give you a clue... Also, that "carnut" site has tons of photos for sure..
BARRY...It's a CREAMPUFF compaired to the 27T braught back from the grave by my son Dirtyjohn. don't believe me, well check him out on H.A.M.B....POP.
what do ya mean too far gone? That''s a beautiful project . You think this one is bad you oughta see the 36 ford 5 window watin for help and alot more than that Dodge needs
i have been working on a 34 dodge, been begging for a grill shell. the 34 seems lay back at more of a slant and has what they call a cow catcher flair to the bottom of the shell.
The rust monster has casted it's spell again, now you have a cool coupe on the back burner. Hard to understand being disappointed in the coupe. CRUISER
33 or 34 either way it's very cool and I hope there's an early hemi in your plans if you don't mind me throwin in a little hint. Maybe a 331 with an old weiand dragstar 6x2 setup.
