mad as all hell !!what some consider trash!!

this has been bothering me for the past week and i need to vent to some people that know where im coming from. there was a post a while back about the mentality of the "s****er" or junk man that drives around in the late 80's pick-up up and down the street looking for metal or alum. to take in for cash.now if your one of these guys and get offended ..all i gotta say is "really" ,..you pick up garbage and i offend you??? any way.. i work part time as a cop and this fall these guys were obviously hard up for money cause they were ripping down gutters on peoples garages in the town !!!?? there were like 60 houses that i had to do theft reports on.. so getting back to the incident in question.. while on patrol i like to pull in to the s**** yard in town to make sure that they're not having any problems . boy i tell ya, talk about timing. as i pull in there is a 54 buick 4dr in the lot and a dirty frail man pushing it to , you guessed it, the typical beat up truck over loaded past the roof . the closer i got to it and seen the condition of it the more pissed i got. the car was "fine" to my standards, completely repairable, or rat ready .. so i pulled up next to him and said" sir, please tell me your not tring to junk that!" and he looked up had said " i was gunna till they told me i cant cuz theerz no ***le" now i know i should have expected him to say yes but still i was just in shock . i said to him " look man , there are people that would probably kill for that car somewhere or even for that matter a fender or the bumper( which i might add were completely untouched ,no dents just some rust that could be scrubed off with steel wool) the look on this guys face was that of complete awe!!! like i was talking jibberish!!! he goes " aint nobody want this thing its junk!! and looks over to his partner who is now nodding his head with his hands on his hips like f-ing golmer pile. then the he decides to add to the conversation " it dont got a motor in it why would some one pay for it??" at that point i realized that the best part of both of these guy s ran down thier mothers leg 45 years ago. rather than explain my position on the subject i just flat out asked him" look what are they even gonna give you in weight for this ??" ( i wish i haddnt asked) " a hunnert bucks....ca***hh!!" as if that would set of a firework show in my mind and then i would see that it was totally nuts of me to even ask!!!! i try to refrain from pulling my gun out now and say " a hundred bucks ??? ....ill go and get it out of the atm across the street right now!!!" then otis and golmer look at each other and say no we cant do that ..got stuff in there." i look in to see a couple of radiators and some s**** alum. all sitting on ....a completely mint(!!!!!!) condition interior.all i could think know was that this was in one of their parents garages and the probably just died and they thought hot damn ,theres a hunnert bucks..i told the guy know that i would give him another "hunnert" for the **** in the back and to just leave it in there .i didnt want him to f up the seats getting it out.by this time the guy is ignoring me cause he too busy directing the other yahoo in his truck to push the car back onto the car dolly. bam!!! golmer hits the buick in an effort to get it on the dolly. now the rear bumper is ****. i tell him again and he just kinda stoped and bit his lip and rubs his chin.. then my radio goes off telling me to back up one of the other officers down on a traffic stop. at this point all i could think was FTP!! i ask the guy if he would at least wait a min before he took it to the next yard and he just looked at me and then looked at golmer. as i drove away being the good little piggie i am i vocalized a vast array of colorful expressions all knowing that part of american iron was doomed for the crusher..

so someone tell me am i crazy ??? would you be as pissed as i was( accually as i am right now having to relive it to tell you all) what would you have done???? cause i know what i wanted to do!!!

 

you should have tazed them both, or put them in the back of your car.

I would have been flipping out! My hat's off to you guys and gals who do police work. You are underapreciated and have to deal with the worst element of society every day so the rest of us have it safe. The two goobers with the car should have pushed it to your house for ya. I guess you can't bust 'em for stupidity.

Should have gave them a ticket for impersonatin' golmer and confin****ed the evidence.

I would of found a way of impounding there tow vehicle and there junk car. If you cant abuse your power for the greater good your not a real cop. LOL.

Im tired of reading posts like this on the H.A.M.B. who cares if his story has bad punctuation, get over it, you and all the others who make posts like this, you know who you are, you just want to see your avatar in the left hand column, add to your post count, and belittle the writer.


When someone is standing in front of you telling a story you cant see punctuation, yet you understand the story!


If you don't have something to say regaurding the thread, than dont say anything at all, that being said please everyone do your best to save as much vintage tin and parts as you can, when its gone it's gone.

 

i was tring to hold em up but then the barney fife of the dept called in a traffic stop and he is such a ***** he wont get out of the car till his back up arrives .. all he ever pulls over is old people and kids that just got there d/l..total cop ****... and legally they were on private property so i had no right to stop them or to run them.

 

We need officers like you down here.

...and no offense to the OP, but it really is difficult to read something that long when it's all in one paragraph, that's not really that mean, is it, to simple make a statement that might help someone out in the future?

I'm with Cutl***dude...A cop job has got to ****...you folks have to deal with lots of trash and I also appreciate what you do...Once in a while there's a ****head cop out there but you sound pretty sane...and a car guy to boot...hope next time I'm stopped the officer is as understanding as you.....Know what you're talking about on the s**** deal..... hell, I followed a semi full of crushed cars halfway to Portland hoping the truck would stop somewhere so i could talk the guy out of the DeSoto grille staring at me from the back of the pile of smashed vehicles....Sadly that one won't be the grille that ever goes in my Merc when I do it.....Probably went to China as ground up s****!
