Who else is stupid enough to put up with this

Man, it's cold but dry here. I put a front helper leaf spring kit in my 1997 F-250 today. A 2 hour job turned into a 6 hour job. I was working outside, the air hose for the impact gun froze up, floor jacks not working right and bolts breaking with easy!! It was sunny, but 3 degrees this afternoon. Come on summer

 

It's chilly here today, -4. Saw a couple dogs trying to jump start a rabbit.

 

Boy that takes me back. I FEAL FOR YOU MAN.

 

you people who live in the cold are all nuts.

 

This morning I drove to meet the group for regular Wednesday morning breakfast in Hotrod Nash. It' was minus nine on the Farenheit scale when I left the house. Nash had been sitting in the carport for two days, cold-soaking. When I first engaged the starter it turned a bit slow, but popped on about the fourth turn. Mental note; Might not kick at twenty below...

There was snow-pack on the road. It's nine miles to the meet, and if'n I was to slide off the road I needed to be dressed for the hike in minus twenty chill factor, so I put on ski mask, ear flappers, heavy coat, long johns and hiking boots.

By the time we had our breakfast meet the sun was out and temperature soared to plus one. I think I'll spend the rest of the day in the house.

I moved here from SoCal. I moved to SoCal from Buffalo NY. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson, right?

But, no. I'm still here. Got a nice 3 acre spread and no crime- 2 things I could not afford in Orange County beach towns.

Yes, winter sucks. But, it is a good time to work on cars if you've got a good sized garage with heat.

I still miss good Mexican food though..!

Darn blizzards! Good news is today is the last of it, bad news is single digit temps for highs for the next week. But at least the sun will be shinning

 

Or perhaps we're nuts *because* we live in the cold? I yearn for the South....every time I get hit by the cut-your-balls-off cold wind up here, I get furious about having moved up here in the first place.

 

It was 8 degs F here today, with a 45 MPH wind blowing snow straight out of the North.

I guess we can thank you Canucks for that one, eh?

Here's a couple of pics from last winter. We don't get snow here in Tennessee like we used to. But if the rain we have had this year is any indication on how much snow we're going to get,,, we'll get hammered tis year !!

Well after 13 inches of white stuff and 20-30 mph winds all day it is now down to zero and the highways are a mess. Guess I should have bought a snowblower instead of the wheels and tires for the '59 F100.
