I'm building a custom '46 Dodge truck. I just found a 1953 Dodge frame, it's rolling, complete & a decent frame with all the factory straight axle intact. It has juice drum brakes.
What options are available to upgrade/rebuild this front end ? I have a modern rear end that I can install.
Or should I pass and keep on the lookout for a T Bucket frame and front end ?

If you keep the stock front end, look up rustyhope.com. Has a disc brake kit for these trucks. I'm working with him on my truck now.
    Good luck.

    Wow,,Thank You!
I want to keep a straight axle but I want to upgrade to safer brakes too as well as any steering upgrades. It has to be Hamb friendly as much as possible. I thought T Buckets used the old Ford straight axle set up? What's up with RatFink?
