  2. Welcome to this weeks episode of 'Whining OCC Rip Off with Hot Rods'

This weeks show will show you how a shop Super can act like a 3 year old who hasn't got his way....

    What a joke........

I keep doing it, I think, why the hell am I watching this ****, forget about it for a few weeks, turned it on last night as they were looking at the kids body out in the lot, and (stupidly) thought...Oh, a proper car for once....

Oh well, will forget about it again for a month or so....

The only guy worth watching is Roy, he knows what he is doing and produces a product. Blue Bear must be a family relation to Boyd or else has some nasty photos that he has as leverage to keep getting a paycheck. I don't think he has the brain power to think of the re***embly of the '27 coupe joke. A good day for him must start with remembering how to tie his other shoe.

I loved the quarter window treatment on the '27 ,its gonna look like a Gremlin when its done, and Darrin, Darrill or WTF his name should get a good *** kicking IMO

  6. In a very slight way these type shows elevate our hobby /pastime....but I think we must remember-they are geared towards the NONCARTYPE m***es,and if theye were to go into ANY TECH details it would either bore the viewing pulic into switching channels or cause em a trip to the fridge for a snack -thus killing their ratings.
We can only wish for a show that would keep [our] interest at this time...... [IMG] [IMG]

Should be illegal to destroy up a really nice original car like that. Plenty of repairable bodies around. But it was his car, Discovery channels money.
Damn, I wish I had known Clifford the Big Red Dog was on, wouldn't have wasted my time watching ***holes acting like fools.
Wonder what they get paid for being filmed? Noticed one of the episodes even the guys at Marcel's were getting a little drama going.

Prior to all these build-up shows, I just grouped Boyd/Foose/Barry White, etc into the came category. I couldn't have been more wrong. American Hot Rod must really let the wind out of people's sails who dopped six figures on cars where they know now the half-***ed work they get. Seriously, us HAMB'ers don't have it so lucky. Imagine what some of us could do if money was NO issue? If there were no parts or resources out of reach? If we had every state-of-the-art tool close at hand? Image what we could build. Boyd's really isn't that incredible when you put it in perspective.
Overhaulin' puts the emphasis on the car and the craftsmanship instead of the ******** drama. Hats off to Chip Foose who proved that not only does he have a talent for design, but that he knows how to turn a wrench too.

I agree with that! I've only seen the show where the gals Corvette was redone, very nice project start to finish. The '54 Chevy build up on "Monster Garage" was another good show from a car guys viewpoint.

  11. Ive watched this show since the 56 was built. In my observation the shop foreman "Dwayne" has developed an "Little Napoleon" at***ude that seems to be getting bigger with each episode. Now, I think that the shows producer is encouraging this to boost the ratings because that is what they advertise in each of the shows upcoming episodes. Discovery has a formula that is used in all their shows that is in my opinion, being over done. Unrealistic deadlines, parts problems, douche bag workers that must work with people who WANT to get the job done, games, pranks, field trips and then wrap that up with some power tripping horses *** of a leader and you spell big ratings. I say I wont watch, but I do.. Im curious I guess. I never cared for Boyds cars "I hate billet ****, a lot of it looks like machine shop 101 to me" but thats my opinion. I say this, Boyd if you read this, tell Discovery to take a hike, because your show is making you look like a ***...

I'm pretty sure Boyd finds comfort sleeping on piles of money. I'll look like an *** for the kind of money he makes, but the only difference I would still work on the cars no matter how big the piles of money were. How do you accept credit for something your guys built. If your name is on the door your hands need to be on the car. Built by boyd my ***.

I'm not a Boyd fan at all and last night was only the second time I've seen the show. While I'm not a fan I thought it was pretty cool of Boyd to pay 100% of Blue Bears car. That said, if your gonna screw with somebodies car or work you better be prepared for retaliation and if you can't take it tough ****. I've worked in a shop for over 42 years and smart*** cry babies like BB don't last. You screw with me, mine, my work or my machine and I don't just get even I get ahead and that's what the shop foreman did. I bet BB thinks twice before he goes messing with his work again.

I have no respect for Boyd now. There was no reason to cut up that T. And they don't even understand the natural beauty of the Model T. Their in the wrong business. Maybe they could build school busses and leave the hot rods to people who get it.

Dang, it was a joke, it was funny as hell too. It wasn't like he screwed up a bunch of critical measuements after they were into the construction of the car, they didn't bolt it all back together, they just hung it back....they probably pulled it back apart in about 10 minutes, and I bet everyone else thought it was funny as hell too except Mr.Serious. Even Boyd laughed at it and said it was funny. You need light hearted funny **** like that in a shop. It wasn't even that he was trying to "screw them up" or put them behind, like ****nose probably took it.

    That was pretty cool...

Comparing where the two cars were at the end of the show...Blue Bear had the framerails done, getting crossmembers in, mocking up the front and rear suspension, got motor mounts ready, and was working on getting the channel done. Boyd's car had the framerails done, and was chopped and they'd screwed with the windows...thats it.

Where did Boyd find the authority to say "you DO NOT get to build your own car. This other guy is gonna do it." Thats the point where I say **** you, I'm taking my car and getting the hell out. I don't care if the guy is your boss and is paying for it, he does NOT get to tell you how to and who is going to build YOUR car.

  17. Good to hear that Charlie got the hell out of there...he seems to be one of only 2 or 3 good eggs in the whole damn place! I just saw it today and got interested because of the trad rod deal of course. Blue Bear got my respect for once because of what he likes but he is still a jack*** for pulling pranks when he coulda been building his own damn car. Dwayne is a angry little man who must have a tiny ***** and wants to take it out on the world. How he hasn't had a heart attack yet amazes me. Boyd is a **** and doesn't look like he does much of anything....this may be just the editing but it seems any time he actually does get his hands dirty he is screwing it up but, its ok because he is the almighty Boyd Coddington and knows what he is doing at all times. BS. I think the show has entertainment value but I am an idiot and like watching stupid antics sometimes. I still rather watch a show that is really about cars and not more of a soap opera with cars in the background.

I think that Bluebear is a little ***** that needs a good ****ing punch in the face, If that was me I would be strictly business and wouldn't be ****in round.

    He's getting a free hotrod !!!!!!!!!!!

That Duane guy shouldn't have done that ****, that just dumb.

Bluebear jokes around the whole time, then things get serious and he gets all nervous about the whole compe***ion. That dude has no idea how lucky he is - money is not a problem !!!!!! he can have his dream ride and he's acting like a pushy boss and not concentrating on the project.

I dream everyday of things i wanna do to my car, and things i wanna do in the future with cars.

Bums me out when i see people taking that **** for granted.

The best thing so far on T.V was the Burbank Choppers show, they built a hotrod and they had fun and stuck together as a team, none of this dramatic ****. Those dudes are punk man , they are just doing what they want - how they want. Thats good T.V.

Charlie was the only guy with any brains on that show.
It was only a matter of time until he walked.

American Chopper, and American Hotrod, are insulting to all true Craftsmen and Artists.
They exist only to sell more **** to *****s.

The cars and bikes are just props in a very poor low budget Soap Opera.

Boyd is a complete idiot. Blue Bear is funny as hell. He's obnoxios but he stands up to Boyd and doesn't flinch.

Boyd "Did you see who did this to my car?"

Blue Bear "ummm, I think I did"

    That's hilarious!

So how about Boyd's old lady's ***s? How could you miss those blinders? You'd think he'd have some cl*** and tell her to cover that **** up.

I hope these guys get on here and see this.

Duane will try that tough guy bull **** on the wrong person and he'll be picking his *** up off the floor!

I thought it was funny when Boyd said Rizzo comes by once in a while to find out whats the lastest thing in street rodding. Ha! Like He'd know! Boyd is an *** thats been reading his own P.R. too long. He can't do anything. Ya see him screw up the hole for the steering column? Or see him fumbling around on the lathe? Whatever he attempts he screws up. And how come that beard changes color every week? Duane could use a good ***-kicking. He'll run that faux bad*** routine and smart mouth on the wrong guy one day and get his karma leveled. Blue bear is a good natured oaf with little appeciation for his opportunity and no self control. He's also become a big star in his own mind. But if he grows up he may be alright. Charlie is a terrific painter, and a great guy, but they wore him out and used him up. Maybe his new boss won't forget he's a human being and will remember there is life away from the job. Roy is an crotchety old fart and I love that. I grew up around lots of crotchety old farts. Becoming one is my goal in life.
All in all, I've yet to see a car come out of Boyd's shop that I'd want. My only interest in one would be, how many lo-buck cars can I build for the cash it brings?

Boyd does not need a show on Discovery for people to know that he is a ****.Most people already know.

Ok, I finally got to watch episode 2 from my Tivo...

All the ridiculous drama aside (which is getting pretty damned ridiculous at this point) [IMG], Boyd is getting all bent out of shape about boxing the frame in front. Is it really that important? Is it just cause the frame is so ****ty? It didn't seem to me like it would be that important to box the frame. If nothing else, run some steel on the inside of the rails to keep the open frame look. Thoughts?

i agree..theres other options besides boxing the front end in, but boyd wanted it boxed. and what boyd says is always what should be done. he's a legend in the hot rod world. he's never wrong. never. and he's paying for the car. so he's never wrong. never. and his wife is always right. because shes mrs. boyd. and dwayne is always right because he says he's always right and boyd says he's always right.

    boyd is a god.

boyds wife looks to have more bondo/bodywork than his cars.

dwayne needs angermanagement cl***es and/or his *** kicked.

The car Chad "Blue-Bear" is building is NOT the car that was at Louisville NSRA Nats. The car in compe***ion to Boyd's T was "Mikes" Pickup.

So it may be safe to say that Blue-Bear Got his *** fired!
