Totaled the falcon today...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by t-town-track-t, Dec 11, 2009.

  1. Tow companies always pull that ****, #1 to make sure they get paid, and #2 so they can try to bang you again to tow it where you want it.

At least you're okay. Car looks fixable from what I remember, might need a couple pulls on a body table to get it right.

And we do have a couple of similar Falcons that could donate front clip stuff, cheap, but kind of far away from you.

Okay now, what was that story about a bird? Nope not a Falcon....... it was a Phoenix!!!!!! ...... and it rose from the ashes....... and ..........

Hope your aches and pain are gone soon...... and forget the "sue the *******" mentality, that was the beginning of a very black era in human history.

Sorry to hear and see this. Like others have said, glad you are ok, well at least not injured seriously. I think if you like falcon, that wagon roller that was lead to you might be a great car to receive donor parts from your sedan!!! Keep us posted for sure. By the way, you have a very admiral at***ude. THANK YOU.

Sounds like our local Storey Wreaker service. We had the same problem with them on my daughter`s car . That why I always call my AAA have them move it . They will take it where you want. But like everybody says we can rebuilt better . G***erman

    Yo B...

That ****s man. I know you liked the hell outta that little car. I remember back in Dewey when Toot striped it. It was a slick little car.

Glad to hear you didn't get too banged up. Hopefully you'll still be able to say that in the morning.

Keep us posted on what happens. Used to be a Falcon and a Ranchero of similar vintage out at LKQ on North Peoria. Dunno if'n they're still there.

First let me say that I'm glad you weren't seriously injured. As mentioned cars are replaceable, but people are not.

The body work doesn't look that bad. The hood, fender(s), grille work, etc, can all be found used. When I look for parts for cars here in FL I'm usually calling AZ, CO, ID, etc. I'm sure you can find a clip in OK. The brace isn't a big deal either. A short pull on a frame machine and it's good as new. I'd be more concerned about the suspension. That looks a little bent on that side (or it's just the angle of the camera). If the damage didn't get into the engine, fix 'er up.

I have the collision guide pages for the '60-'63 Falcon and you can use them as a check list for parts and for writing an estimate for labor. PM me if you want a copy. I just handled a '65 Comet convertible hit pretty much the same way. The parts were cheap. It was the labor and paint the cost the most.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure a fair amount of that understructure and frame parts are the same as 65/66 Mustang.....and all that stuff is available new....

    Glad you are ok!

That thing can be fixed. If you can't figure it out yourself, I'm sure there is someone close who can point you in the right direction.

Hell, Jim Sibley could fix it at the impound lot and drive it over to your place. :D

****s that you were involved in a kinetic encounter, but seeing how you went ahead and lived through it, everything else can be fixed.

Hate to see a runner go the s**** heap or become a parts carc***.

The closer it gets to Christmas the worse people drive. Then what gets you is that when people or rather other people that hit you and do the damage don't think they are wrong. What's wrong with admitting your wrong? The other day coming up a two lane HWY a guy pulls out in front of me doesn't even get in the lane next to me that is empty. Then goes way under the speed limit. I lay on the ole horn, then he steps on the brakes. I'm telling you I'm not stupid but if I pull out in front of you and know that the speed limit on that little HWY is 55mph I'm getting the hell out of the way. People have gotten so darn stupid. People just can't drive. Sorry about the Falcon and glad you are alright. Sorry for the rant.
