international torsion bar removal ???HELP!!!!

    67 international 1000 . i put it up on the lift, loosened & removed rear brackets from frame. i can,t get the damn things out of the upper control arm:mad:. i beat the **** out of them for hours. am i missing something:confused: they should slide out of the control arms right? please help???

    I know of what you speak, never removed them. There a 3 good international sites: OldIHC.org; IH Only North; Binder Bench Ask a question on one of those forums and you'll be amazed at the response. Nothin like an old bunch of binder guys to to give advice. Good luck, oj

    You probably need a tool like this or you can make something similar. No, they won't just slide right out of the control arm. Not if it's anyting like taking them out of a Mopar.
