Hi I'm woorking on a 1937 chevy 1/2 ton. I just found a used hood ornament for it My question is, How dose it mount at the front? there is a square pin that goes down thru the grill shell this has a horizonal threded hole thru it with a screw. What receives the screw? Is something missing? Thanks
Its been awhile since I looked at mine but it has a long screw that holds it down in the front,I think you put it in so far and slide it in and use the two bolts on the rear to hold it down. This might not be the correct way but its how I put mine back togather and you cant do much with the radiator and grille installed.
Thanks Jeff that's how it looks to Me I just thought there might be something on the end of the screw.
Does your 37 resemble a truck or is it one of those fenderless contraptions that look like a T bucket with a roof, mine has a stock looking body.
Hay thats funny Mine is one of them thar fenderless contraptions lol But all I started with was a good cab and two barrels of parts that I saved from becoming a 4X4
The screws are either square head or slot-head and have a pointed end which wedges the ornament into position.
I dont know what to call them as some get a little touchy if they are called a rat rod,I started out with just a rough one without a bed. Its a good thing fibergl*** fenders and reproduction beds are made as mine would most likely be still in pieces as good used sheetmetal was hard to find when I got it and I put it togather not having a computer so I had no access to ebay during the build.
