Does anyone have one of these lights laying around that they can measure for me? I'm looking for width at the thickest point, over all length from the points to the front, where the trim curves and height from tip to tip. If so inclined, the angle would be cool too... If ya got a protractor handy. Man I envy some of you guys that just have this sort of stuff laying around. One day I'll have a "junk" pile too, and won't have to pester you guys... I'm thinkin of extending my rear quarters to accept these, (one of many ideas) but want to have rough measurments of the part so I can figure if it's possible for them to flow before I buy a set. Thanks in advance
Hello. I Have `60 DeSoto "boomerangs" laying around... I´m not sure if I followed your thoughts of measuring it but here are some measurements: Angle is ~40 degree. Max width 120 mm (oh yeah, the funny stuff). Over all lenght 680 mm ( I started from top tip and followed the curve all the way to bottom tip). EDIT I; Forgot the height from tip to tip --> 325 mm If not clear please shoot another question and I can try to clarify it with photos. br -jupe-
Here you go. 1. Max width 4.5" 2. Height, tip to tip 13" 3. O/A length from tips to front 10 7/8" One consideration, if the tips are mounted on the same plane, the lines in the red plastic lens will be running at an angle, which kind of makes the unit look crooked. Here's a photo where the lens is positioned "level". That may, or may not be a consideration to you.
Here's a pair of '60 DeSoto tail lights for sale. I believe the housings are the same as Chrysler, just different lenses. http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=28420&posts=1&start=1
Thanks guys! This is why I love the hamb. You can ask for the most unusual things, and get answers right away! Those desoto ones look pretty cool too... Looks like the trim is slightly different. The curved part appears to be a different shape, not quite radiused. Hmmm...
