I was going through Craigslist and couldnt believe it!! there is wwas..he has been trying to locate it forever... http://www.craigslist.org/sby/car/48920188.html kinda of awesome feeling...
Good Shit man, you guys gonna buy it back or no?...I have found alot of decent stuff on craigs before, and cheap too.
I think my brother would just about sell his fuckin soul to get this car back right now..he's excited to say the very least!!he called a bunch of people at 11PM at night to tell them the news!! whats crazy is,he had an old friend he grew up with visit him today and we were all talking about this car and were wondering whatever happended to it...its fate!!
.....man.......take a loan, second mortage the house........do WHATEVER! It's only money. This opportunity may never come again...........Congrats!!
He emailed the guy a few times this evening...Offered him all the cars he has..will try to get ahold of him by phone in the morning...keep our fingers and toes crossed..hopefully he didnt sell it already ....
A little background..he bought it March 1994 in Livermore for $6K it had a 301 small block in it with Camel hump heads, the Muncie and the 9" were fresh..The 283 had some hard miles on it..and the day we were going to drive it to Hot August Nights..I was driving it and the motor let go!! My brother parked it in the garage, found a 68 327 block with TRW 12.5:1 forged pistons in it, re ringed, installed a Crane Sat night Special Cam,later model heads to bring the compression down, installed new bearings etc..and ran it...Still had the old Edelbrock Tarantula intake on it and one of those green fiberglass flex fans from the 60's..he installed Offy valve covers and ran the Generator..It was period perfect...I think it ran a high 12/low to mid 13 second times..with Cheaters on it through the mufflers..Car was a Utility sedan with no back seat..GTO or Impala bucket seats...One of the coolest cars to drive...Of course I never heard the end of it for being the little brother who was driving it when the motor blew.. in 96' he changed jobs and needed the money and sold it for like $7000...seen it a year later at the Goodguys in Pleasanton here and then a friend of mine spotted the car in chico and was spotted at the Redding drag strip a few times.. a few years back it was in the Auto Trader for like $12K I think it was and thats the last we heard or seen until tonight...
Thats what I told him....He wants to have both..Because back in 94 he bought this truck and the Chevy at almost the same time.I dont think he will part with that Cad engine though. You guys should here that thing run..he fired it yesterday after letting it sit for like three months.it fired on the first turn!!That Engine was built right. The guy would take $8000 cash for the Chevy and is willing to take a deposit and pay as he goes.He found the 327 he built for it,grenaded making a pass down the track..it now has a 350 in it and this guy said he just installed a new cam because it was flat and now the lifters are making noise..Also the 9" has been through a few axles and now has 5.30:1 gears in it..It used to have 4.56's I cant imagine running it down the freeway now!!!right now is not a good time with Christmas and things have slowed way down...I dont think he can pull this one off..He might just have to say goodbye..Thier is a Canadian buyer interested in the Chevy..It would kill me to see it leave Nor Cal..its been here all its life..
COngrats. Sure wish I could find my Pops ole Show car 57 @ door hardtop. Miss it so much. My life just has not been the same since. MAn these cars turn into family.
