First, I must say that I have no connection at all to Rock Auto.

I'm just p***ing along a Discount to anyone that might purchase parts from www.RockAuto.com.

It's been a great resource for myself, when looking for part numbers and ordering brake, ch***is, engine, and a ton of other different replacement parts. Anything from late model on back. I ordered EVERYTHING I needed to rebuild the F100 brakes for my Model A Roadster project, including seals and bearings. The parts, through Rock Auto, were quite a bit cheaper than purchasing through NAPA (for example).

Here's the email I received from them, explaining the Discount:

    _____________________________________________________________________

    <TABLE style="MARGIN-LEFT: auto; WIDTH: 761px; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto; TEXT-ALIGN: center" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=761 border=0><TBODY><TR cl***=ecxhide_printed><TD id=ecxbgheader colSpan=2></TD></TR><TR id=ecxbgfade><TD width="50%" height=85>
    Discount on RockAuto Parts!
    </TD><TD>[IMG] </TD></TR><TR><TD style="TEXT-ALIGN: left" colSpan=2 height=85>
Thank you for being a www.RockAuto.com customer! To show our appreciation, we have a special discount for you.

    Your discount code is:

    25606592125697

    Using Your Discount Code

Enter the code above in the "How did you hear about us" line of the shopping cart. If you are using our traditional HTML catalog, please click the "Apply" ****on to the right of the field. Your discount will automatically appear, subtracted from your order total.

Please note: We sometimes get calls from people who put the word "discount" in front of their code and do not get the discount. Please enter ONLY the discount code, no other words or numbers.
The discount takes 5% off our already-low prices. There's no limit on order size or the number of orders. Use the code for your next order, and share the code with friends, neighbors, relatives, the guy at the corner garage--anyone you know who works on cars or trucks.

This discount code expires on February 7, 2010; so don't wait!
    _____________________________________________________________________

    </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Hopefully this will save some of you a few $$$. Enjoy!

Not affiliated with them either, but they DO have a great catalog and a lot of parts for old cars.

I use the online catalog for researching parts #s quite a bit.

Thanks for the heads up. One of there wharehouses is right here in Cedar Rapids. I get all my genuine GM stuff there way cheaper than the stealerships sell them for. I think they are the GM wharehouse for the area.

Yup, use these guys all the time, no one stocks Caddy parts so I order alot from them. Always quick shipping and detailed online catalog. Also the catalog is a good source for part numbers if you just want to go to a local parts store.

I guess I just look at it as a way to say "Thanks for your business".
Also, since I posted this for anyone to use, and it says right in the email to p*** the Discount Code on to anyone, you can be a first-time customer and still get the discount.

I know, not much, but still better than no discount at all...

I did have a 10% off deal from them a while back that expired before I had a chance to use it.

If you don't like the deal, don't order from them. There are plenty of other places out there that will sell you the exact same parts.

You can often find RockAuto codes at sites like RetailMeNot(dot)com. They aren't trying to cut a deal for recurring customers. It's applicable to everyone.

The only issue I've had with Rock Auto is the way they hammer you on shipping if your order has to come from 3 different warehouses like the last time I used them.

Guy's it good to post the discount code, just keep updating this thread.

BTW don't ever ***ume rockauto has the lower prices. Always check the part numbers at your local auto parts stores. You might find yourself saving on some shipping or core charges if you have a core to return. Also some of the pepboys/o'rielly/autozone type places do site to store.

I've ordered many parts from rockauto but have also found deals at local retailers too.

Anybody else have problems with their credit card after using it with rockauto? I'm not saying it was somebody who works there, but the only time I used the card in the last month was to buy something there and the next day it started racking up the bills in Italy . . .

  16. Which could be from any number of reasons, ran an antivirus or spyware detector lately?

5% is $5 on $100. Considering they're already $25 cheaper on the part I need, I can deal with it.
