help with parts places 48 chev

    i have a 48 chevy fleetmaster i just purchased and am looking to get the orig 6 cyl going and just anything in general. does nyone know of places that will have stuff for this ? i know about chev of the 40's but that is about it. any help appreciated thanks .

    I haven't found anything 40's Chevy specific other than what you mentioned for my 48 Chevy. Although I will likely be ditching the I6 eventually if it needs internal work once I get it unseized.

    If you specifically need engine parts, like a rebuild kit, there are places that have rebuild kits for almost any engine out there. A few good google searches should yeild something useful. IIRC, I searched a while back on rebuild kits, and they were available, but ran about $1,000 and change for a complete kit.

    most places can get parts for these engines, but you have to look up the part # yourself. also try langdons stovebolt, patrick's antique trucks, kanter, or inliners

    and there is a place that sells body panels and floor braces etc. let me know if thats what your looking for i'll get you the link

    Kanter has engine rebuild kits, possibly front end kits...Patrick's has engine parts, headers, manifolds...Egge machine has engine rebuild kits...

    Try EMS out of Ohio and do a search on ebay for 1948 Chevy floor panels...theres a guy on there that sells floor panel kits... I just forgot his name...:eek: I bought a rocker panel from him for $ 65.00 Chev of the 40's wanted $275.00 :eek:

    and here is a pic of a correct 41-48 rocker panel box and floor braces they come as a kit rocker box assembly and 3 floor braces

    Try "Old Car Parts" in Portland Oregon, 503-771-9416 , they have tons of used parts and some NOS parts are are very reasonable, quoted me $150 for a complete chassis, and they are very friendly.
