Those of you who have read any of my posts, might've heard me mention my wife Sandy, and how she's been pretty good...make that great to encourage and support me in my "hot rod habit". Last night she struck again. We had just finished watching a movie on the computer, when she suddenly grabbed the mouse, and brought up the H.A.M.B. I asked her what she was up to, but the only response from her was a sly grin. As she navigated through the site, I mentioned that it seemed like she knew what she was doing. She replied, "Oh yeah, I've been on here a LOT."............What the?...........Well, she went to the Alliance membership page, and typed in all the info. Then pulled out her credit-card and bif-bam-boom.......I was suddenly an Alliance member! HA!!! Cooool! I thanked her through my laughter, then began to explain that I get discounts from the ***ociated vendors...she said, "I know.".......another What the?..........Turns out, she really has been rummaging around on the H.A.M.B.! She then went to the "store" portion of the site, and announced we were going to buy t-shirts for the both of us to wear to Cobo. We were a little dissapointed to find that the cl***ic black T's with the red H.A.M.B. logo were sold out. Shooooot! Hey Ryan!......any chance of a new run of t-shirts before Cobo? Anyway, I was recently pleasantly surprised to find that I was no longer a FNG, yet was really bummed-out that you guys didn't seem to be very concerned with my physical well being, considering that you had made me a Grenade Inspector! Sandy saves my *** again! What a gal!!! BTW, she admitted that she recently tried to actually sign-up on the H.A.M.B., but there was a glitch with the fact that of course our e-mail address was already used for my membership. She e-mailed the mods, but has not heard back from them yet. Anybody have suggestions as to how to deal with this situation? Thanks! Once again, I've got to say, What a gal!!! - Rick

She sounds pretty special...take care of that one..In the early days of my marriage,my ex wife bought me the first cl*** version of Hemmings.Guess she didn't realize that meant that I'd have a headstart and an advantage over the typical third cl*** reader of that mag.Remember those days,chasing **** through Hemmings? That only happened once.By the time the one year sub ran out,she was pissed about me spending money on "that junk",and the time I spent in the garage. We never did see eye to eye on ...anything.. Thanks guys! Yes, she does have two sisters, and they're pretty cool too. Always made me feel like part of the family. I gotta say though, Sandy is the pick of the litter!
Thankyou, Willie. Sorry to hear about that. The truth is though, she wasn't good enough for you. Let me tell you a quick story. Check this out, pal...I had a girlfriend before Sandy who thought she was quite something. When I showed her my newly-aquired '52 Chevy, she said, "Oh, it's a "lugwump". I said, "Whaaaaat?" She said, "Yeah, you know...it doesn't have any spirit!" (She owned a '72 Triumph Spitfire for a toy.) Shortly thereafter, she informed me that I was "allowed" to have only one old car at a time. Not long after that, she started going out on the side with some guy, and then dumped me. When Sandy saw my Chevy, she poked her head in to get a look, and exclaimed, "Wow...this car has character!" And then proceeded to drag me into the back seat for kisses! One more thing. The very first time that Sandy and I went out, when we had said goodnight, and I was walking back to my car, she called to me, and said, "God Bless You, Rick!".......I was like, OMG!!!......that's the first time I had ever heard that after a date! She and I have been together now for almost 24 years, I have a barn-full of cool old cars, and she still says "God Bless You" very frequently. There's a lesson somewhere in there.
