Well whoever it is , when i catch them, I'm going to **** them in the eye socket.

Their excuse?" they are NOS and most people dont want the original packing disturbed so we dont check them." ********..they had to look close enough to check th "c" designation to denote .010 undersize..

Nothing on their site about NOS..I ***umed I was buying new bearings..live and learn i guess.

Looks Killa Ben. I love the subtle Tail lights, There's Nothin better than a clean rear end.

Put the bearings in a safe place & remember them on your next trip to the States so you can insert them where they fit.... ****** Jokers!!!

  4. Haha, that'll learn 'em!

For collectors yeah, but if your building an engine they should be ****ing usable, plus the business is obvious a parts dealer, so that is a piss poor excuse to use.

    Who are they??

I hope you mean the car, and not the bearings..:)

Jimmy, I'll hold out naming names, may be able to use a little blackmail on this one..powerful vintage-ford-part-buying message board, bad press, thousands of page views..yada yada..

  7. That right there is what we call PATINA!

You'd think if someone orders something from thousands of miles away the supplier would take a tiny bit extra care to ensure the parts are good. Or maybe the opposite is in play.

You know if that was a Rancho Deluxe Lincoln it would be shot to pieces in a field with a Sharps .50 cal. buffalo rifle.

That bearing situation is ridiculous. Those should be replaced at no charge to you and with prepaid postage too! Who would ship garbage like that? NAME THEM!
There is no way the original package was mint and have bearings inside like that ****. No one with common sense would ever ship a set of bearings without checking their condition, especially to a foreign address.

They have shipped a new set, express, free postage. Said to keep the old ones..how generous.
for that reason they get to keep their reputation for now..

Onto happier news..just got back from the upholsterers, stoked with his work. The nice thing is he is round the corner and I drop in daily and we discuss the finer points of what he is doing..this interior will be awesome..

first two shots are just the patterns fitted, working out pleat spacing.
The green is the leather..it looks SO right..like a comfy old couch, the colour works really well. Im so happy with it.

    Oh ,
we are considering a row of leather covered ****ons in the pleats, tufted looking, about a third of the way down the back..
what do you think? too chesterfieldy? just right? lemme know!

  13. Dr Ben, Can I sit on your lounge and tell you my problems....:D

Veeeerry cl***y, would stick that car in my formal lounge room, no other furniture required.

Keep at it, worth the heartache, will be a very memorable Oz built car....

    Drewfus:)

    yes, yes it is.

should get the engine back tomorrow, so a thorough day cleaning every component, rechecking all clearances...then re***embly can start.
    Trimmer will be finished Saturday.

Im still aiming to drive this thing Christmas morning..I deserve a little seasonal joy.

Beautiful car!! I vote ****ons on the seat. It will break up the long pleats between the back and bottom of the seat.

    Good luck with it!
    keep up the good work!

    Hmm..sounding like a restorer a little ..:p

I get your drift though..when the interior is nearly done Ill post pics and sit the ****ons there..then well see what works.

  24. I reckon the ****ons would add a little bit of visual interest and break it up a bit. Just a single row about 1/3 of the way down from the top, wouldn't look like a Chesterfield then. ;)

The Interior Colour & Pleating looks great. Not sure about the ****ons, I'll say No but will reserve my judgement for the Mock-up your gonna provide. Anything special planned for the Door Trims?

Yeh the colour is perfect..I really had this colour in my minds eye..and when i went to buy the leather they said 'Hmm Green..not much choice in green..' and showed me three colours, well the other two were horrid, then there was this..imaginatvely ***led "Dark Green" special for the door pockets?Sure is, a more comprehensive map pocket surrounded with a deco s***ching detail, should look similar to original, little fancier. should have photos of that tomorrow afternoon hopefully!
