Mopar Guys,,tranny question,,slip yoke

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Desoto291Hemi, Dec 16, 2009.

  1. I just got my new yoke today and something is wrong.
    The mopar number is 5007410.
This is supposed to be a slip yoke for the 904 or the 833 overdrive tranny,,it takes the 7290 u-joint.
The yoke o.d. measures about 1.557 and seems to fit o.k.
The i.d. measures about 1.080,,which is bad,, because the splines on the output shaft of the trans measures about 1.020.
    The spline count is 26.
    Has anyone got any ideas?
    Here are some pics.
The number cast into the yoke is 52097679AB

yep what he said 727 and 833 the same and 904 smaller

  4. I have two trans from the mid 70's that are short like the A body trans.
I think they came out in the Duster.
    They have 26 splines.
The o.d. trans that were in the trucks and the like are a 727 spline,,they are the long ones like the B and E body trans.

Didn't know that. I guess all the 833 O/D's I've messed with have been the long tailshaft version.

I've also seen at least one non-overdrive A body 4-speed with the 904 sized 26-spline output shaft.

Sorry, can't help with the ID issue, but if you haven't done so already, I'd ask Brewers Performance about it (link above).

There have been lots of reports on the Mopar forums about the MP yokes not fitting what they're supposed to fit.
