Evel (& Brett Barris) ... cool pic ... thanks for sharing.

Here's some pics of Blackie's "Lakes Roadster" before he completely rebuilt it into a show car (i.e., before its 1955 AMBR winning form):

The stark AMT kit simplicity of the bottom view is really neat. One '34 Ford, a T body, saw and glue...the meandering wiring harness is the only hint that the car has more than the 25 parts in a model box.

I've seen this pic before but I just started thinking, if you look at the date and then look at that sinister car and beard that Blakie is sporting.... DAMN, he was WAY cooler than the coolest guys around at the time!!

All cars worth showing should be shown like that. Anybody can show a car on it wheels.

The park pictures look like they were taken at Roeding Park in Fresno. You can just make out a flower hedge spelling out FRESNO in the background of the shiney side up pic.

I guess that would only be interesting to us Fresnoids.

Ha, Thats cool. For some reason I cant help but think that it would damage something? Guess not?

Here are some pictures of some guys lifting "The Cockroach" on its side so everyone could see all the chrome underneath.

I believe it was called the shish kabob special? I read somewhere that he was the first to use mirrors underneath a car in a display to show off the chrome. guess they got tired of draining the fluids and he went in to the womens bathroom at a car show and yanked the mirrors off the wall and placed it under the car.

Back in the day, it wasn't uncommon to see midgets, sprint cars and even F1 cars up on the sides of two wheels while working on them. Gary
