I've had a couple guys ask me about this Stromberg 97 choke bracket so sorry I haven't posted sooner. Are you looking to make a choke bracket for your Stromberg 97 carburetors? Here are some pictures and a full scale blueprint. You can print the blueprint full scale and spray glue it to your piece of 16GA steel. Cut, drill, and bent it and you're good to go. I designed this bracked about a year ago after trying to find one. The only one I could find was a chunky cast aluminum one that was never in stock. This one looks and works better. (In my humble opinion) It attaches to your choke cable with a 10-32 X .500" fastener and a 10-32 star tooth nut. I used a woodruff key to keep the star tooth nut perpendicular as shown in the last image. The bracket is thin enough (.060") that you can use your existing Stromberg 97 rear fasteners to mount it in place as shown. "Why buy it when you can make it." Dowie
Nice bracket. Stupid question: how do you attach the inner choke cable to the ball stud on the choke arm?
Bend a 90 degree return or hook on the inner solid wire cable. Drill a .060" dia hole in your choke arm. Put the return or hook on the solid inner choke wire though the .060" dia hole in the choke arm. There are other ways to do it as well. but this is a simple solution that I did years ago. It still works great.
Some factory strombergs had them too, they were mounted off of the top, but they ran different diameter tops
