Yes the one I have is an original rebuild, but was stated that it is hi flow, I don't know what that entails and hopefully does not mess up my build.

Sorry, guys, I just had a few days' computer problems, SO I'm catching up. Sorry! Did you already go into what VALVES, guides, valve grind, some alternative, single valve spring choice -- or maybe those factors either haven't been discussed yet OR aren't part of this equation for THIS particular build? THANKS

BTW, I sure agree with Scot & ALL the guys: You don't need to OVER-build any Hemi. A few improvements are keen!

Just getting to that point now jimi, though I haven't got the heads checked out yet to see if they've been rebuilt or just really clean.

    Just start commenting away!

I used a mild Howard's cam from HH. Used Comp Cams # 988 dual springs.

Oh, I got some ideas about cam profile, and the one you reference isn't one of them...:D Those numbers might work as an RV cam in a 318 but it will get lost in a 331 Hemi.

Of course it all comes down to what you want the car to do. What is the car by the way? How lumpy do you want the idle?
Even a 270* cam (218 @50) with 460 lift is going to be pretty mellow so start looking at your favorite cam catalogue and see what sparks!

I just came across this thread. I can't remember exactly who it is, but someone on here has a Hudson with a Hemi in it...perhaps "Dehudso". He might be a good source for fit/clearance tips and tricks.

    thanks.
