We've ran into the same thing before and Cory's shaft was like that too. We were going to use it because it was only .050" smaller in diameter, but we found another one that was the same diameter all the way down, so we used it instead. I wish I knew what doner car it came from, because I'd be on the lookout for spares.

Kris, Sorry that I have not returned your phone call. I did not know you call until later that night and the next day I was busy with work and spaced it off. I should be getting my new cell in the next few days. I'll call you then. If this is something very pressing call me tonight.
Can you do something for me. Tell Jeremy that I do have his 400 trans and I'll call him when I get my cell.
    Thanks

I've got both sides of the bed shortend and now I'm working on a shrinking a few stretched spots and putting new rear stake pockets on.

Cory, Mike and Brandon have been working on a floor template.

We've also been messing around with the grill shell. We moved it back a few inches and tilted it more vertical. We are going to shorten it about 6".

...and Tim has been giving the front engine plate a bit more 'soul' by poking a few holes in it.

Awesome work, thanks for taking time to do***ent and post picts of it for us!

For your drive shaft problems, contact Drive-Train Specialities. There is one in OK City, and they said they are all over the contential US when I was in there. I took them a drive shaft that got almost a whole inch smaller diamater at the end. They chopped it to length and just used a different yoke with offset to mate to my yoke. They had a huge bin of u-joint yokes in different sizes. They build shafts for heavy equipment but take walk-ins.

It cost me a total of $86 to shorten my drive shaft and balance it, and they did it in less than 3 hours, from walk-in. I was very impressed to say the least.

Maybe the guy lost interest and bought a Civic. [IMG] [IMG]

  8. Yes, and no. We are still thrashing on it now, but for awhile there it was tough to get up to the shop and work. Some of the guys are working every night now on it, so we can get it done by the Utah Autorama. I believe Loudpedal will finish this post up when we are all done, he is super busy being the crew cheif of a dragster team.. I havent been up there since Sunday, but at that point we were close, but not that close, Kris was finishing the body work on the top of the cab and bed and prepping it for paint, The 2 pot intake was installed with carbs. The new headers that Deek (who by the way is super busy himself redoing the Salt City Special 2 weeks before Autorama [IMG]) welded up were installed after getting them back from the Chrome shop. Tim and Brandon were finishing installing the cab floor. Cory was finishing prepping the new rockers. We are basically there. I believe that once the floor was installed the cab and bed were coming off for paint (still keeping the patina just touching up parts) then it all goes back on, plus finish wiring it up, locate the gas pedal, install a wood bed floor, plus other stuff I am sure I am forgetting. It is looking so bad *** now, the newest hot rod is always the coolest. Then Cory can sell it and by that Civic.. [IMG]

don't worry it is never as close as she may make it out to be.....oh yea and don't sweat the petty stuff,

We have been SO busy on this project that no one has slowed down to even snap some pictures, to bad to, it was a great post.

No worries the finished product is all that really matters, right

  19. wow, this is super old. yeah CptPottyMouths truck is done and he has been driving the piss out of it. Its way cool..

On a side note the roadsters have begun!!! With any luck mine will be done for Bonneville 16 days to go and a full list of stuff to do. "Boats" roadster has begun as well, for these builds we spilt up into two shops to get them done, "Boats" taking a little longer because of the attn. to detail he wants to do, it will be nice, nice and fast..he,he,hemi.... (I cant wait for him to get his done he has been with the club from the begining and has been waiting for his time, well its now!)

I might be able to post a few pics of mine, but am trying to keep it under wraps until its done, or at least driving.
