Im building a 26 roadster pickup with a quad four and im wanting to put a t-5 behind it im just worried there isnt enough room for 3 pedals in there. Does anyone have any info on this i tried a search but couldnt come up with much. thanks boonie
We have a 26 RPU with a flathead and 5 speed The car is channled 4", its a tight squeeze but there is room for the 3 pedels. heres a pic
There should be plenty of room, in my '27 I have a auto but there is room for three pedels, also a manual trans is smaller than a auto. As long as you car isnt crazy channeled, mines not channeled at all, or so low your drive shaft is your arm rest you should be fine.
Shouldn't be a problem if you plan it out. I have a T5 behind a 4.3L Chevy V6 in my '23 roadster. The brake master cylinder is under the floor in the "traditional" location, but the clutch master cylinder is under the dash. Bob
What are you using for a intake on the Quad4? I have one in a 32 3W with a C4 auto. and weber carbs. Very pleased with the motor.
Relocate your steering box up under the dash, then you will have cool cowl steering, it will take some fab work and a bit of engineering, but will sure help free up some much needed room in the small foot box area that is allways a problem for the 20's and early 30's cars and trucks.
All depends on how big your feet are. Seriously, one way or another three pedals will fit, you're just going to have to measure the space available, the components you have to stuff into it, and literally, the size of your feet. Hamber Drive Em posted a photo essay on building his T a while back. Do a search and look it up, modified tube ch***is, Mopar steering box adapted to cowl steering, track nose, lots of great ideas.
