Just wondering if anybody out there has dropped a big block chevy into a stock framed merc . I see speedway motors carries the stuff to mount it in there . I was wondering if i am going to hit any snags like steering clearance to oil pan .or fire wall /floor to trans. probly going to run a turbo350. At first glance it looks like it should work. But if you havnt done it yourself you never know what could hang you up

No big problems. The main one was that the floor had clearance issues with the trans so i had to make room there. This will probly cause issues later with the carpet too. and i had to dimple one header tube to miss the steering box other than that the speedway mount kit worked great. I got lucky and only had to redrill the holes in the stock trans crossmember for it to bolt up perfectly. I did have to move the radiator mount forward and down for fan clearance, but i ended up with plenty of room to run a regular fan. I also got luck that the stock driveshaft tube was the same size as the chev van tranny yoke that i used. I just had a new tube put on it to the right length.

Thats really nice that it went in so easy and had a kit to do it. Mine wasnt too bad but there was no kit for it. What type of headers did you use??? I was able to modify a set of long tubes that worked pretty slick.

I used some cheap tight fit headers that speedway has.
