Rapp'n with some guys the other day and we were talking about a movie (late 60's or early 70's?) where these two guys were driving a yellow? 55 Chevy and they would hustle people to drag race. Then when racing they would flip a switch that gave the car boost and win. Turbo? ....just can't remember and it's driving me NUTS! Help please.....
Macon County Line was in 1974 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ8d4VN1MlE and Return to Macon County Line was 1975 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOHC8hDAJN0&feature=related (which is the one you're thinking of)
actually the sequel was Return to Macon County, which has that sweet chopped yellow '57 Chev and Don Johnson
I always thought of "Return to Macon County" as a cheap ripoff of "two-lane blacktop", albeit one suited for a less artistically inclined (and therefor larger) audience. Still waiting for a DVD release. It may be bad, but not that bad.
Sorry, no I dont have any pics, but it still looks the same for its history sake, only he has rally wheels on it now,but I cant say they hurt the looks of the car compared to the originals. ( I would say he still has those too) ...and no the car wasnt chopped nor would it be the way I would want to build one today but it would be stupid to make just another 57 out of it. besides, lets just say he has another car or two around if he wants to do something diffrent
