  3. The easiest to do is a 55-57 chevy rear. You only need to re-drill the holes in the axle to spring pad. Other than that their are alot of options. I think one of the better ones is from a S-10, Blazer or GMC Jimmy. The one you want has to be from a 4X4 model. These rears come in a virety of different ratios. Whatever you decide on you want a rear that is 60" wide drum to drum. Todd

  5. Mine came from a 94. Not sure of the other years. Just bring a tape measure to confirm the width.

    70-79 camaro= 61'' wide
    67-69 camaro= 60''wide
    believe 79 up caprice =61''wide
you'll have to put on new spring perches and the pin on the leaf spring is set1 1/2 inches off center.
    hope this helps.
remember the 70-79 camaro had a 8.5 rear end alot heaver then s-10 depends how much power you'll have.

Don't forget the 77-81 Camaro/Trans Am rears....I think it began in 77....anyway, I've got an 81 Trans Am rear in mine. I only had to move the pin hole forward by 1.75"...drops right in like the 55-57. Its 3.23 ratio, posi, and has disc brakes...but that'll cost you some extra scratch to get new E-brake calipers. I got it for a good price so I didn't complain too much ;)

  10. Any second-generation Camaro/Firebird rearend is damned near a bolt-in. All that needs to be done is drill a hole for the locating pin in each perch, they drop right over the stock springs just fine with no other altering needed. They are a tad wider than the original rearend, but if you're not planning to run skirts or really wide tires you'll be fine.
