The back roads were the best out there. We passed Kukamonga Road. Loved it, GREAT weekend.

 

that's my pile of parts. i had a "fun" time getting home. it seems my accelerator pump didn't want to work with me and i had a real tough time getting it to idle. i ended up killing my battery at a gas station when i couldn't get it started. amazingly, there were plenty of people willing to help. i met a guy who charged the battery up for me. the show was great. i'll be there next year hopefully with a proper running car.

We made it Saturday and had a blast. First time for us and we'll definitely be back next year. Great pics everybody !!!! Like the Showdown in May, the camping is as much a part of the event. Everyone who couldn't make it this year ----start packing your rain/snow/scuba gear and DO NOT MISS THIS NEXT YEAR !!!!

Scary Larry and Beaver Bob did a heck of a job here.

I get to a lot of nostalgia races every year as a participant. At this race I came to be a spectator. and was really impressed. The racing moved along smoothly and their was not a lot of down time with nothing going on on the track. Well done.

The staging lanes weren't kloged up with cars sitting for extended times.
The track action was great.
The 1/8 mile cars were fun to watch. Really.

I'll be back.

Great seeing everyone and making new friends! Thanks for posting that video, I hope to see more videos as I didnt get to see too much racing. I wrote some other comments on ScaryLarry's thanks thread. I also put on some in car youtube for your enjoyment! Only downer for the weekend was Eric's motor in the chevy threw a rod out the side of the pan, better watch when your cutting the grass Bob!

The 2010 Jalopy Showdown Drags date is: Saturday October 2nd.
Here's the way to really enjoy yourself. Come out on Friday night and enjoy the camp over and Street Racing. Race or watch the drags on Saturday. Then you don't have to pack up and leave, you can camp over and bench race the event again. It's one of the best times you can have at a track.

I'm new on here but have been to the showdown 3 times and the drags 3 times, both great times, but I gotta say I like the drags more. We get there Friday and I love 3 days of watching cars go down the track. The Jalopy guys sure stand out Friday night(when it's not raining like mad).
