If you look on the internet for the Summit , look up their converters . One of the " Saturday Night " converters are suppose to have a higher RPM converter and better built .
Basically a step up from stock ! It's not that good for a race car only set up . Good for street & strip cam set up .

Just tried checking out numbers again on google and TCI but found nothing! Do these converters usually have the part # on them or could the number shown be a manufacturing number or something?

I checked Boss Hog, TCI & B&M the numbers or description didn't match anything in my catalogs. Maybe its' a Monday Night Special. Sorry, couldn't resist being a smart***. It looks ok to me, there are a bunch of convertors out there in the 3200 rpm and less that are m*** produced and sold by any number of suppliers. The numbers may not even be a part number of the ***embled unit, they may be the core numbers of the converter shells. Like the numbers on a cam, none of them are part numbers that i know of.

Thanks oj, I am reckoning the same as no numbers seem to match it whatsoever. Thinkin its time to make him a silly offer!

That looks like a stock converter. For the kind of money its at plus you need to have it drained and flushed you may as well buy new. That way you know what you actually have.

TINKER...considering the amount of work involved, are you sure you won't to risk it? if something smells like fish in a market, that's normal. but your not at the fish market. i'am just saying...POP.

Yeah, buying an unidentified used torque converter in uncertain condition off an internet auction site from a guy whose ad says, "Please DO NOT ask me any technical questions as you will find out how little I know about these things!!", in the hope that it might actually be something useful for your current project just seems a bit crazy to me. Spring for a new one.

He says someone else told him and so on !
That means , I have no idea what it fits for sure or even if it works but someone told me it works " I wouldn't' even go there ! The RED flag should have gone up with that one !
Even at 75 lbs , that's like about $135+ US dollar so far .
A used converter is just one of those things you should by new unless you have the real history on it .

    looks like a vega converter

  20. I tend to agree it does look like a stock converter and using a small diameter Vega converter was an old school low budget trick. It also dosn't last with any kind of horsepower.

A converter is a bad place to try to get away with a bargain.
