Nope, Rotors are the same on my 97 S-10 as my 90, 85, and 82.

If you want biggest factory brakes for a GM metric spindle, you need to go Camaro 1LE front rotors at 12"

    http://www.thirdgen.org/brakes2

    Otherwise SSBC, Wilwood, etc.

I used f100 rotors with the rotor turned off and then used dodge 4x slip on rotors with the s10 bearings . So I have 12.25 rotors on s10 spindles . I did have to make new caliper brackets. It works great.

i just used the stock s10 calipers and master with a camaro booster. it will send you through the windshield:eek:
the bracket that i made isnt the cleanest looking right now, but i am going to make something better later but i just wanted to make sure it all worked before i spent alot of time on nice looking brackets.

i will try to get some pics in the morning

I've been working on a 38 plymouth sedan since reading this thread. More pics in my profile album. It's a work in progress. I started on it in May, hoping to keep the budget around $3000...

I'm considering cutting a removable access panel to my bellhousing bolts in my transmission hump to make motor swaps easier ala drag car style. My truck is already open top, hot, and loud so I don't think it'll make things much worse.

I know this makes me look like a real computer dufus, but how do I pull a picture(s) out of my personal computer file and give it a "URL"- http/ "designation?
I get the "righty-tighty" stuff, but I still hunt and peck on this con-fernal machine.
I plan on releasing never before seen pictures of my '53 Coronet on S10 frame in progress.
Is it too soon for Merry Christmas and Happy Hot Rod New Year?

You need an external host like Photobucket or Flickr. Alternately, you can upload them direct to the Jalopyjournal server by clicking the little button that looks like a landscape.

Got a 56 big window , gonna go with a flat stake side for the bed , so im more flexible with the rear of the frame i guess. I just need to know whitch s-dime frame to use for it. Wouldnt mind it being just a little short from stock in the rear , kinda like a "bobbed" flatbead i guess. Nothing extremely short though. Plans are for a 292 i6 & a 4 speed. As for all the "traditional" comments... This is my truck , & i will be the one driving it , not you. With that said , thanks for the help guys.

This is my first post as a fng so please be kind. Thanks to all who said hello after I registered. My brother and I are putting a 40 Dodge on an S10 frame. As we are doing most of it outside it will have to wait till spring now.
This is a great site and I have read a lot to help me so far. We have the motor mocked up with a 305 but We will build a 350 this winter and have a 700r4 in it now.

I'm thinking of the 93 and up 2wd Blazer or the S10 "Extreme" with the hi-perf handling package,..........or I could be totally fucking wrong,...it happened once before.

Isn't it going to look like a clown truck with the wheelbase that short?

The ZQ8 package is Anti-sway bars and a quicker steering ratio. The Blazers got Dual Piston Calipers, however I believe the rotor size is still the same. The Extreme was simply graphics, ZQ8 and the same brake package from the Blazer.

you can get the dual piston setup, complete knuckle to Rotor for $300 a pair of low mileage, and $200 a pair for high mileage from S10-Wharehouse on Ebay (They are located in Bradenton FL (no affiliation))

Would the dual piston caliper make much of a difference?

The formula consists of breaking radius, swept area and force. The dual piston caliper is about 1.5x the force, therefore 1.5x the breaking over the single piston caliper.

The best OE option would still be the 1LE rotors at 12.1" in addition to the 1LE calipers which are trimmed down Corvette Calipers. This option is rare, where the Dual Piston setup is common.

I myself will be running the DB calipers with EBC green-stuff pads and ATE power-slot rotors.

If that isnt enough, then I will put a Wilwood hat, rotor and 4-piston caliper on the truck.

I would suggest moving the rear spring hanger back about 8" and cutting and flipping the rear frame sections around. sort of like this:
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144798

That way the wheel base gets longer. Dropped spindles bring the front down where the rear now is.

xtreme trucks do not have the dual piston front brakes nor the disc rear brakes of the blazer.

I bought an xtreme 2dr blazer frame from a body shop, they thought it was trash because the frame was bent in the torque box. I got the dual piston swap, the disc rear axle with 3:73 ratio, the bilstein shocks, the quick ratio box, the front and rear sways, the lowered xtreme coils and leafs, all for a song and a tow.
