We have a 29 roadster and a chopped 32 Sedan.
Lots of good points made in this thread, but in Michigan you will get more use out of the Sedan than the roadster.
I would go with the sedan for sure.
You can get a Brookville body anytime.
And yes, if it isn't original Detriot steel and you stick it on a reproduction frame, then in the end, the reality is it's a kit car

In my rant about sedans and roadsters I forgot to mention that in the 70s and 80s I had a total of 5 original deuce roadsters. There is no replacement for original 32 tin and even though there are 2 Brookvilles in my shop now I miss the gennie bodied 2 doors and roadsters. I'd give my left nut, hell I'd throw in the right one for a real deuce roadster or another chopped sedan. At my age they aren't doing me any good anyway!

    Haha.....point for Bob

I too would opt for the Sedan but I just don't care for roadsters....I know, I'm weird.

Meee too. I would rather have real Henry tins than something else any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Besides, I prefer closed body cars.

    My .02 cents

Roadster or Tudor, I'd personally go for something like this, especially in our rainy climate. Different and spacious.

  13. One of the great thing that destinguish Restorers from Hot rodders, is we can do it our way. Pick what you really want and build it your way.
    HemiDeuce.

  14. I would go with the sedan. That might have to do with the fact that i already own a roadster though :D. I think if i ever went with brookville i would actually go with the 29 roadster, personally.

It's Christmas Eve, we have snow on the ground and it about 28 degrees out there,a '32 Tudor with a heater would be GREAT right about now. Merry Christmas!

What kind of shape is the sedan body in, and how complete is it? The Brookeville body may, dollar for dollar, be a better route to getting something on the road.

A real Henry body is what it is, but IMO a finished, driveable "kit" car would be a lot more fun than a genuine Henry garage potato.

No, Marcy. You're not weird. I don't like 'em either. Unless, that makes me weird too. But, I'd prefer not to think so.:)

  21. Sedan, hands down, no question. Think Bob Tindall's(Sp?) Orange Crate, one of my all time favorite cars.

Mike, Why didn't you ever tell me that you were interested in a sedan? If you had I would've told you to do a sedan instead of the roadster we were dealing on. It's too bad my '32 2dr just went to storage for the winter while you were up here or I'd of taken you for a ride.
You haven't divulged yet if you already have a '2dr or can get one. Either way i would go for the 2dr. My Brookville will probably still be sitting here if later you decide on a roadster but even it it's not they are only a phone call away. I've got a sneaky su****ion that you've got a 2dr. candidate already in your sights so how about letting us see some pictures.

How about this for a thought. Buy the 32 body because it is real and they aren't building any more . You can buy a Brookville body ant day you want to build another car.

Wasn't the question.... Guess you have Deuce envy:D

  26. I dig roadsters.... But a Henry sedan is the real deal. Good luck with your decision.

Sedan but I'm a wuss. I like A/C in the summer, heat in the winter, and a roof over my head when it rains. Also I'm biased as to this question.
Get what you really want, and Brookville isn't the only reproduction steel out there.

You have gotten more than enough opinions, but I'll add mine. Consider carefully, then get the one you can

    1. Afford.
    2. Finish.
    3. Enjoy.

By the way, a previous poster remarked about good days and bad days in a roadster. There are no bad days in a roadster, although I have experienced some where the weather was sub-optimal......
