I picked up a set of 327 .030 over pistons for free the other day. Can ya help me cross the number? The only number I can find is 1690P. I have tried Google and TRW's page but not much luck. Thanks
Just going from memory here, but it kinda sounds like a sealed power number, I thought the TRW numbers had an "L" in front of them.
from what I remember the "L" prefix was the powerforged pistons only...that 1690P could be another make like sivolite or badger. TRW made stock cast pistons also but I don't have a book.
[ QUOTE ] I am only guessing it is a TRW. Could be another brand. It's around 12:1. [/ QUOTE ] I have an old TRW Performance Engine Parts book at home, I'll check it out when I get home from work.

Root, Ok, that number doesnt come up in the TRW catalog. It really sounds like a SpeedPro / Sealed Power number to me. The catalog also doesnt have a cross-ref. BUT, I can give you some info out of the TRW book. Are the pistons domed? Any valve reliefs? Also, what are the CC's of your heads?
32viper: I sent you a PM with some old TRW piston numbers. (Not sure if that is what you wanted.) ~~~Bruce
NAPA catalogue shows a 224-1690 and their numbers are supposedly Sealed Power with a prefix. "62-69 327. 4" bore. 12.5:1 CP Forged, Length: 3.437", Comp Dist: 1.675", Pin dia: .927". 2 1/16" comp and 1 1/8 oil ring grooves. Note: heads less than 64 cc may have to be modfied for clearance."
go to flatlanderracing.com look up pistons they will list trw pistons by # and give you the compression Ratio with different CC combos
