I'm beating myself to death on deciding on what color to paint my bel air. I want to go with hot rod flatz satin black, with every piece of trim a very glossy gloss black. ( bumpers, grille, taillight bezels, window trim. etc.) My second idea is hot rod flatz flat copper pearl, with all trim gloss black. Can someone give me some opinions or a photoshop please? car is a 1954 chevy bel air 2 door sedan. Thanks, skyler.

i wouldn't do satin black on a 53/54 chevy anymore, it's sort of been done a couple times.
    that's just my opinion though.

I know that alot of people, me included thinks that flat black is played out but I actually reallly like the sound of this. IMO, if you want something a little less cliche' I would go with the copper but honestly either sound pretty sweet to me.

Whatever you decide I wanna see pics once done!

i personally don't know about painting the trim either?

is the trim just super rusty?

copper sounds better than flat black.

but remember to keep in mind that metal flake is the new flat black:)

I think that the color depends really on what color your dash and door jambs are?
or if you are going to paint them too?

I really dig that hot rod flatz purple or the hot rod flatz sea foam green

seriously though rusty bumpers look better than monochromatic painted ones...

My opinion is "no" on both counts. This is just my opinion. Trim should be either removed or left alone. Never painted.

I never did get into the "flat" fad.

    from so . cal.

the flat look is passe' and has been done to death. If you want it copper and black , I'd do the main body in copper and the side insert black glossy , leave the trim as is, not painted . lower it w/ some chrome wheels , and add a little accent striping iv a off shade of copper. Done

If it's your unique combination, if it looks like its been done 1000 times but you think its cool, do it! I have to say I plan on still painting mine flat black body with gloss white top, un painted trim, and flames. I am seriously digging that copper though!

  9. I'm a fan of satin black and gold. Here's my car.

There was a 54 in the Hutchinson Ks.area that was gloss black that set my head to spinning! I have thought very serious about painting my 50 Hardtop gloss black.

I want the "murdered" out gloss on flat black look, because at night time i want the car to look completely sinister. But i know the copper with the gloss black accents would look sick. I really need a photoshop from someone. Reguardless i will be painting all trim gloss black. No side trim whatsoever, just window trim and belt mouldings/grille/bumpers/taillight bezels. I just dont know how all the black would look. The black on black will match the "hellrzr" liscense plates, flamethrowers out the side of the body, and 454 big block though? damn, too indecisive.

You'll only need to fab up some metal teeth for a grill.

It's a tough decision to make, I know I've been struggling with this for a couple of months now. But in the end I'm the one I have to please.

Flat Black has been getting hammered around here more and more lately. But it does it for me, and it's the direction I have finally decided to go. Stick to your own vision and just have fun with it!
