I would like to see some pics of the Lil' Coffin.

I would like to see some of the early pics, and then especailly when it was a show rod.

Also other great show rods, the Emporer, the El Matadore, the Ala Cart, etc etc etc.

Basically I want to see the best of the late fifties/ early sixties show rods.

    Thanks.

I KNEW from your hint's and part's list (those wheel's) that a wild '60's rod was in the work's.

Yeah, I'm just looking to get inspired,
I have a couple Hot rod's in the works.

The Bleedster is going through some HUGE changes.

    That site is AWSOME!

Thanks Eyeball, I've seen that new Lil coffin, Something seems wrong about it.... I would like detail shots of the origional.

I used to have the Rod and Custom that it was in, but I wore it out when I was a kid. Does anyone know what year/ month it was?

    The El Matadore rules too.

Bobbleed, I have the Rod and Custom issue it was in, will try to find it and scan for you this weekend. I also have the precofffin feature when it was a channeled fendered sedan that was in Car Craft 62'. That version is my favorite and would consider a clone if I had another sedan body.

I've always thought this was the begining of "The Lil Coffin" cover car of Car Craft November 1960. Car was owned at that time by Dave Stucky, and built by him and his BOSS Darryl Starbird.

  24. Those 39/40 coupes sure lend themselves well to that look. Actually 39/40 coupes lend themselves to every hot rod/kustom treatment, the one car that can go every direction...

Can't let this post go by without bringing up the good ole Brown Neck Bandito belonging to Anthony Castaneda of the Shifters.

Hey Bleed, I agree with you that there is just something not quite right about the Lil' Coffin clone. I still absolutely love it, but there are a few details that bug me. I will not mention them, as I have no authority nor right to pick it apart. Beautiful car, and great tribute. Wonderful post topic, by the way...

Yeah the El Matadore is magic.....

    Cushenberry had the eye.

I really like these radical cars that diddn't have a Gimmick.
They were just radical customs, but everything made scence.
    They had purpose.

I don't care for the gimmicks.

The tires and wheels on the new Lil Coffin are terrible, the front end treatment looks clumsy and it looks like they took the side pipes off of a semi.

Does anyone have more unpublished type pics of these cars?
