Thanks it is cool, we are thinking of stretching the frame and making a car hauler, Or we might just put a fifth wheel hitch on it for a goose neck trailer

Try here, they have links for all sorts of truck parts and suppliers, but keep in mind that Dodge is a pretty rare piece, looks cool though.

Oh, that could be a cool diesel powered anything, as long as you lengthen it about six to ten feet. Could you cut up a pickup hood to make it fit?

ive got a hood for 49 dodge pickup. you would have to shorten it and add some metal to get the height you need. you can have it if you want it.

Make one first and keep looking if you're not happy with the fab.

Looks like a purpose made Mobile home toter. They mad the wheelbases that short to meet the totla combined lenght rules in effect at the time. You need to get a measurement on the ehad length, and does it have dual intake? If its 33 inches it could be the K series which would likely be a 331 or even the 413, yes 413 cubic inch flathead 6.

best place to find a hood would be where the truck was when the hood was removed

Well they were notoriously fluid thirsty especially the stuff with the octane in it. But they made torque like crazy. So measure the head and get the engine number, above the gennerator onthe block just under the head. If it was a toter its probably the smaller engine, but ya gotta measure.

That's not one of those special made, adjustable frames is it. There was a company back in the day, that used to convert frames into adjustable frames for trailer tot purposes. I'd try to find an original hood, & not fab one. Don't think it'd ever look right. I see those hoods, & parts trucks, pop up from time, to time. Too bad it's not a Chevy, or GMC COE. I have a shop full of '47-'54 G.M. COE hoods.
