That's a slick looking stepper there, Rocky. What drop are you running?

if your talking about the blitz black its a good paint that holds up and is cheep but the down fall is that you cant paint over it... if you plan on ever repainting it with anything later down the road i would go with another type of paint. just my .02

My 52 is painted with the blitz black paint. It's been on it about 4 years or so now and still looks as it did the day I sprayed it on.

I plan to strip it down maybe before spring and get it ready for a gloss job.

no pics but, I painted a set of wheels with the blitz black and the primer they suggest and followed instructions to a tee. It looks good but it chips off real easy, and hasn't even left the garage yet.

Tell me more. I was thinking about using blitz black but not if I can't paint over it.
Not even if you rough it up?

I wouldn't say it absolutely can't be covered, but the "hotter" two part automotive paints / primers would probably cause it to lift. Maybe with the correct sealer you could be successful, but I sure wouldn't take a chance.

Check out Skate Fink's 63 Impala wagon or 27 Kid's 64 Falcon. You can paint over Blitz Black if you're careful.

yes you can paint over it by the time you cut the corner by using the cheap blitz black paint and take the time and use one of the better sealers you might have a chance at it sticking but to me its just not worth the effort and the risk of it lifitng is just too high of odds for me to want to take the risk but thats just my opinion i painted my 34 ford pickup i had with it and it looked great but when it had some damage done to it in a storm and when i went to fix the areas that needed fixed the paint just lifted off i used a good sealer but i guess it wasnt good enough i stripped the paint and shot it again with the hot rod flats or something to that effect dont remember the name
but thats just my experience with it take it for what its worth

Painted my roadster with JD Blitz Black. Easy touch up with the spray can version.

  17. I used it on my roadster. As others have said "It chips." Now that "Hot Rod Black" is available that is the way I would go today.

    Everyone,
Thanks for the info. I don't think I will use in on my coupe.

  19. JD Blitz black has been on my `28 tudor since 1996 and it looks as good today as it did the day i sprayed it. i don't understand this "it chips" , it's been very durable for me
