    Hey guys!
As always I turn to you for your input as you guys are the real deal! I'm having new shop calendars made and have the first ones done. There will be a second batch with the same models in different poses. I was going for the early '40s style pinup shop calendar look. They have the tear off months and are about 7"x 12" again using an old one that I found for the ideas. Let me know what you think!
As always, thanks for all your help!
    Eddie

    P.S.
I can post pictures of the actual calendars but these are just jpegs from the printers shop.

The next round of pics will be 40's style poses with the cars. Sort of bomber style. Or is it the calendar itself?
    Thanks for the input!

I agree #4 for me as well....on her back with her legs up , what more could you ask for....also I agree that change of clothing would be good, too generic with same shots..just my 2 cents worth!:D

Thanks for the input. The calendars are like the old shop ones that have one picture and tear off months. So each calendar is different. But I will have some more choices this week. I really do appreciate all the input!
    thanks guys!

    Thanks Terry!
You're always on the list! Hopefully I'll make it to the next hamb an eggs. Saturdays are just hard for me, as you know being a single dad with a 3 yr old it's tough to get out!

They will all be available on my website if you're interested. I will add more soon.
I will also be doing some stickey auctions proceeds going to the hamb as soon as I can figure out how to do it!

P.S. the bead roller is harbor frieght with a lot of extra metal to stiffen it up!

  21. Now i'm not here to shut you down but would like to give you some constructive criticism. First off love the idea and I think you are in the right direction. Secondly I think the girls are very nice I just think it is a little to Hustler for what you are trying to achieve. I would go back and look at some '40's pinup books, mags, etc. The girls did not look this skimpy. They looked more exquisite and cute rather than horny Hustler girls. I like everything else though just think the hair, makeup, clothes, etc. has to change on the girls. Hey I like skin to but if you are going '40's I don't really feel this.

Couple of thoughts: The first model seems to be the closest in hair/makeup to a 40s shoot. Short jean shorts are definitely NOT 40s style (not that I mind, but they don't suit the flavor you say you are aiming for). Many of the genuine calendars have the models somehow actually interacting with the "products" putting them in more dynamic poses- how many ways could you have a model tastefully bent over the English wheel? A lot. Lastly, the backgrounds are very busy. What about a drop cloth as the background, fewer items on the workbench or shelves. I like what you are working on, and I agree with another post that mentioned going back to the original source calendars/ads. Best of Luck!

needs a little work to get the 40s look but what a better excuse to get 12 half naked chicks back into your shop

Thank you all for the replies! What I mean by '40s style is the calendar itself. You know the old shop calendars with the tear off months. We're going to do another shoot this week and hopefully get the look right. I like the idea of it being in a real working shop (mine) We are going for somemore authentic poses. But each calendar will have a different girl and tear off months. I really appreciate all the responses and the help! Keep it up!
    Thanks,
    Eddie

Eddie, I think the attire is the biggest stumbling block I see. I was there in the 40's and 50's but don't remember any lady with cutoffs and hi-heels, sorry, just my take.

The models standing topless behind a bead roller reminds me of the old saying...
"Don't get your tit caught in a wringer".
