Small world, eh? I remember seeing him run in Waukegan, IL. Yep, a pretty wild driver. Gary

Heres some pics from the Mooneyes show in Japan...http://www.mooneyes.co.jp/hcs/09/report/e/mo.html

I couldnt help but to post a few. Check out the Pink Panther, I trashed one of those as a kid to get the reversed cragar wheels. That 57 Ranchero kills me.

  4. My grandad died when I was about seven (1980), so my dad went to clean out his childhood home and move my grandmother into an apartment. He loaded boxes and boxes of his old model kits into the back of a truck and hauled them to the dump that day.

I kept bothering him that I wanted that stuff, so to shut me up he threw me a model box that had the parts to this '58 Chevy model below. It was the first model kit I ever really had.

I built it and rebuilt it 100 times, played with it, wrecked it. But it always hung around. I put it back together as best I could a couple of years ago. This picture is from today.

It turns out that it was also my dad's first model kit that he got in 1958. Somehow, despite my desire to ruin everything with spray paint when I was younger, this one still has the original brush-painted cinamon finish and flame decals it had when my dad pianted it 50-years ago.

    So there you go. :)

This is one of the best builds of the Rat Packer I've seen yet. Where did the driver figure come from???

Alot of cool stuff going on in this pic, I especially like the mid engine 27 roadsters. I remember doing something similiar many years ago but using AMT 29 roadster as $20 bucks for a resin 27 body seemed like a fortune back then to a 12 year old

    That is cool!

One of my daughters got me this and I'd bet I haven't put a model together in probably 20 yrs or more till this Christmas. I might get it finished today.

Oh.... I NEED one of these flathead kits.

got the body fit up on the 49 ford. need to get some bumpers and bring the front down just a little bit on the frame. and do a ton of detailing still!

but I actually pretty happy with the ride height...

this is my last finished project of '09. based off a picture of a truck posted here in the AWB truck post it strongly inspired this build, but it's not a replica. hope you guys like it.
