Don't know if any of mine are H.A.M.B. cars, but everthing you see in the album in my profile has been owned over 5 years and all but the '57 Buick are tagged as I really got that one for my son to buy from me, though he hasn't.

I've had my '67 Camaro RS/SS for 43 years (bought it when I was 19), had my '33 for 20 years, although the first 8 years was building it, and had my '37 slantback for 17 years (all original survivor when I got it), and have been building it for the last 2 1/2 years, the metal work is nearly finished now (chopped 2" front 1" rear.

Got a my 55 Chevy sport coupe when I was 17( 40 years ago) 49 Ford in 1986 & the 77 FLH in 1980,still got them. I think it was 92 when we got the 53 chevy coupe in North Dakota. All other are fairly resent purchases, as in the last 10 years. Not quite sure how I'm gon'a let the little woman know I'm planing on buying that 48 Pontiac Silver Streek.Oh and there is that other 55 Chevy 150 2dr. but I've only had it 37 years. They are in a barn.

  6. This old girl has been in the family since 1966. 65 Comet Cyclone. (I still have the skirts!) I dorve this thing when I was a kid and I took care of it after it was parked for 20 years. My folks gave me the title a few years back and it is currently in the paint booth with a fresh coat of white paint. I am giving it back to my mother as a surprise...

My Avatar and I have owned my 1939 Standard model Ford Coupe since the summer of 1965. I drove it to my first two semesters of college and was driving it when I met my wife. I still have both of them. I am doing a complete frame up on the '39 though!

  8. My "new" car, '56 Ford Fairlane, bought it in the summer of 1968 while in high school:

Same car (well, much of it is. . .), December 2009. Will be 'road ready' once again in the spring:

I've had it 6 years longer than my wife! :)

Got my 57 Nomad in 68 and sold it in 2005. My family sold it because of my health. Except I got well and wanted my Nomad back. I don't even know where it is. It had a blue printed (by Jerry DeMoss) LS6 454 and a B&M turbo 400. By my reckoning that's about 37 years. We had a 55 Del Ray coupe for 20 years. It had the original 265 and 3 on a tree when we sold it. Now I just have a 78 El Camino. It's OK, but its not a Nomad

The 40 coupe was my first car. I bought it in 1965, 45 years and 3 rebuilds. The 38 chevy for 31 years and the 40 pickup for 6 years now. The 38 Chevy is for sale now.

Bought this 1953 Handyman in 1976 for my H.S. shop project. Owned it ever since. Often registered, sometimes not and until 2001 always in the arid west.

I rescued my '51 F-1 in 1996, had it back on the road by 1999, and have put over 30,000 miles on it since. It will be rebuilt, modified, and changed, but I can't imagine ever getting rid of it.

  20. Not a barn find, but I bought my coupe for only $2,000 back in '95 (15 years now) in Brentwood, Long Island New York. This '31 Chevy 5 window coupe was stored in a local garage as a complete hot rod, built sometime in '68. The pleated dash and wide pleats on the seat with a vinyl top at the time reflected the late 60's. The car still had the '76 DMV registration stuck proudly on the windshield, came equipped with a '61 Chevy 283, Turbo 400 and linked to a '63 posi 4:11 rear. All a friend of mine and myself did in three month's of thrashin' was a rewiring and I completely stripped the coupe down to bare metal and primed the body in black primer. I went with the GASSER look for a number of years now. I'm hoping to completely restore my coupe with Candy Orange metalflake (same as my engine), the awesome blown 392 Chrysler HEMI that you see and a refrigerator white tuck and roll interior with '59 Thunderbird buckets, orange metalflake Moon slotted steering wheel, Whitewall Mickey Thompson pie cut slicks, you get the picture!

  22. Really dig your '31 Pontiac... Our coupes are very similar in shape and of coarse, RARITY! Would like to see more pics of your coupe!

  23. I've had my cowl and doors about 15 years, somehow. But it's only been put together for 2 years. Does that count?

Here are a few pics of my '31 in its current condition. Features include a F*rd front crossmember, monoleaf spring, drilled I-beam axle, repop '39 Lincoln front brakes w/ Buick aluminum drums, Vega steering box, Socal hairpins, '57 Olds J2, Turbo 350 trans, Mopar early '60's alternator, Chassis Engineering "X" kit for a '32 F*rd modified to fit the Pontiac frame, Pete & Jake's ladder bars, Aldan Eagle coilovers, and a narrowed '57 Pontiac rear 3:08 posi. Original idea was to go full fendered, but now I'm liking the 'no fender' look more. plans include a 3" chop, Guide headlights, and '58 Bel Air taillights. Have not decided on color or interior yet, but they will have a traditional look. Thanks for your interest 31chevymike!
