Thanks Brother! Yeah, I went to Crazy Ray's in Mt. Airy and scored a great bench seat (my truck came with some 'bright' racing seats), and there's a lot of good pickins.

  7. Very nice clean pickup! Looks soo much better with the whitewalls and steel wheels. People have mentioned whitewalls wouldn't be period correct, yet I remember clearly when my dad bought his 65' C10 Custom Cab new, it came with thin whitewalls, and chrome dog dish type hub caps.

  9. Wow lotsa info. Sorta confused this ole timer (73). Have a shot at a 64-66 Chevy truck Positraction 3.42 w/ Drum brakes for a leaf spring truck, but its a 6 LUG Chevy truck rear. I have a 55 2nd series 3100 pickup with leaf springs and 5 lug rallye wheels (wheels, small hub cap and trim ring looks like a 69 Z Camaro I used to own). I measured 61" across wheel mounting surfaces Its selling for $500.00 I have almost no idea what to do here. What wheels can or must I use, what size tires? Should I convert to 5 lug (almost $200.00 per axle)? I expect the truck drum brakes will be fine though I prefer disc. WHAT TO DO???

  10. HELP HELP HELP!!!!

I just bought a 65 c10. It has brand new bf goodrich 31x10.50x15 all terrains on it with these funky 15" rims. I wanna swap to smoothies. A guy I know is wanting to sell 15x8 with 4-1/2" backspacing smoothies pretty cheap but he wants to dump them today. I want them but I am afraid they may not work with my application later down the road. I need help. I have 6 lug disk brakes up front and my rig is stock. I am gonna drop it it with 2-1/2" spindles and another 1" with coils. Would those rims work for me? I wanna run thin white walls. What size tires would you guys recommend? I need help quick since we are meeting at 2 today to negotiate. Thanks ahead of time guys!!

I don't see any major problems with what you are looking at. he backspace seems pretty close. I'm not a fan of 8" wheels on these trucks myself, but I like things low too. As far as tires go, it also depends on ride height and what your finished ideas are for your truck. But something in the 235/75-15 range is a pretty good start.
