Sometimes a hood ornament is just a hood ornament.

    Looks good, do it.

i cant believe that a hood ornament can get somebody so heated. i think the connection between the ornament and the fact that the truck is an apache ties in just fine. it does look good! maybe if you just wear a poncho when you drive it, that will make the purists happy.

Funniest comment of the year, late entry.

Seriously, as roadrunner said, wire that perfect fit to your headlights, you lucky dog, looks great, love the truck, love it just a little more with the hood ornament.

You need some Buick port holes for the side of the hood

Go for it. The Indian light on the bike in my avitar is not "correct" for a '40 Indian, but I like it and it is going to stay as long as I own the bike. And if people mention it at shows, I'll just remember what my mom used to say about folks who make negative comments being jealous. My stuff is my stuff and I like it the way I like it.

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

Wow...Some of you people are really supporters of Team Pontiac... which is alright with me but I'm looking at it as a cool piece of art more than anything else.

With that said... The hood ornament is now permanently mounted and will be illuminated in the next few days.

It's a little late on swaping engines because I just put a fresh SBC/700r4 in it over the Thanksgiving holiday.

I can't take credit for the bumper idea...it was already installed when I bought the truck. It came off a 58 Chevy car and is one of the things that I liked most about the truck when I when I first saw it.

Hope you guys have a great New Year

great douche newbies.... give it a rest and learn to read, get some hooked on phonics maybe. Comprehension is the key. I mourn our educational system these days.

The majority of the reason I was against it is that it's just adding something to be novel. Like skulls and cobwebs...

    it was stupid..

because someone paid me big bucks for my non chevy hood ornament..

you should likewise have luck selling that pontiac hood ornament for a nice profit..

Yep that be stupid :p :D

  26. To me novel would be more like autozone "portholes" or neon license plate frames not a pontiac hood ornament. Ill see where you're coming from when I see them on a shelf around the corner.

Hood ornaments are like wearing a hat.
Went out of fashion a long time ago, but some still like to wear them, regardless if it matches the outfit and occasion.

I have a NOS aftermarket Indian Head hood orniment, made by Blackstone dated 1950. Looks like a full head with war bonnet, Face and Feathers lite up, with chrome around top of bonnet. Anyone got one? Or a pic? Hate to say what I paid for it!!!

  29. Did anyone remind him he can use dryer sheets to make the indian head sheen more?-Weeks
