I was wondering if anyone knows of a good 1939/40 Ford body ***embly manual out. I've tried Ebay and Amazon for them but no results found. I'd like one with pictures and parts showing how to attach certain body parts with what size srews, washers, nuts, etc. Thanks for any help hope to hear from you soon. Choggie
What is known as the "green book" of 1928 - 48 ford parts has the bolts, nuts sizes etc. listed for all the bolt-on items like fenders, runningboards, hoods etc. Bob Drake used to sell this but google it for other sources.
As far as I know it doesn't exist. I would have loved to have had one for the many 40's I've dealt with. When I began my 53 F100 and found a factory manual I was amazed how much easier it made it.
The V-8 Ford club lists several books on the 39/40 ford on there online sales page. Also someone on the Fordbarn site is doing a story on the build up of his 40
**** Spadaro has it too. He might give an alliance discouunt too. http://www.****spadaro.com/recommended_books.htm
choggie: I found this to be very helpful for ch***is parts, engine parts. Not a lot of sheet metal parts. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1938-39-40...ash=item258832adf1:g:5qgAAOxy63FS1hKy&vxp=mtr
Mr. Downs: Your photo is so "close up" that it's difficult to visualize the "big picture". Any chance of posting a larger more encompsssing photo? What year, make and model car is that?
??? I guess I'm missing something between thee lines. Clarification needed about MII suspension. Thanks.
