When a buddy of mine passed… I was asked to call his widow… to stripe his coffin… But after I did she had changed her mind. I assume he would have been in it. I did stripe two boxes with beloved dog ashes in them though… That felt like an honor!

  2. if i could stripe i would open a booth at every car show to do this for the fellow gals. i know they would line up & pay a pretty penny to have it done.
you guys have definitely motivated me to pull out my kafka brushes to start practicing again with this thread. love it! keep 'em coming

All this beautifull work is inspiring! I bought some Mac brushes and some one shot a couple months ago. Got a scrap piece of glass and went to town. This is without a doubt, the hardest thing I have ever tried. I can lay a straight line but that's about it. My hat is off to you gentlemen. Maybe in ten years I'll post one of mine.

  7. Here's a couple I've done:
A picket fence(actually a display inside the bike shop)
A set of earplugs for a friend of mine.
A set of artificial arms(he lost them when he grabbed hold of a 7600 volt power line)
A set of 3 color flamed fingernails

I guess I haven't done anything really off the wall, but I did an odd gift for a friend. He gave me a bowling pin from his first official "300" game. I lettered his name, date and "300" and striped the pin.

  15. Going to do a quarter panel on Rick Love's '32 today at a body shop, now that's really weird. I thought only late models get stripe repairs. Wonder if it is an insurance job? I hate doing body shop work but he's such a nice guy and "cool" too.

There were several involved in that. Coop from Columbus was one. I can't recall who the others were. Someone can fill in the blanks, I'm sure. I remember seeing some photos of that back then.

Lost my best hotrod buddy last year, built an urn for his ashes, since all his cars are hotrod black, and he never got that woodgrained interior, we used a ford hubcap woodgrained it and painted, polished and striped a quart paint can.... then painted and striped a piece of glass to sit it on....

I've got a good one for ya ... I was so pleased with the way my friend Matt striped my last car , I had him stripe my ... KITCHENAID MIXER ! Matt said it was definately his first striped mixer , so I'd say it was a "odd" request . I love it & it's a great conversation piece , no doubt . And yes , I DO use it :)
