that's in the st louis area, i'm surprised i haven't seen it. it must be locked up in a garage...

the jake's rakes folks should be familiar to some of you, i'm pretty sure the shop truck was at the BG HRR a couple of years ago...

 

A friend of mine who lives near White City, Ill. says he thinks that car is around there.
He said he thought he seen the car at the Duquoin State Fairgrounds last year.
Said it was (Ford) Red...I guess meaning the color of the old Mustangs???
Said the car was also seen on a County Road near Alton, Ill. which is near White City I think?
May not be the same car...but he has never told me wrong in 20 years of knowing him.

Enjoyed this thread a lot. Yucaipa is close to where I live, an I can't even imagine driving my 7 from the back seat!

There is also a Granite City in Ill. The guy that sold it said it was Ill. Either way we can all look both places.

 

OK I get it. After looking at a map I see that Granite City Ill is in the St louis area. Very cool.

As I said before he did paint the car red.<O></O>
After he bought the car he had a carbureted 350 installed and did some drag racing with it. When he saw the car in the 1989 Car Craft he decided to restore it to the way I had built it. It was after that he painted it red after a friend of his had a fender bender. Here again are the photos just before it was painted red. Gary tells me is not a computer guy so doing expect a post from him in the near future. All I know for now is that he sold the car in 1995 in the original condition except for the pain He told me he was going to try and track down the guy he sold it to.<O></O>

How the heck did this car not flip over on the roof everytime you stomped the gas???
So much setback, with slicks and a 5.13 gear!

 

`when i owned it the motor was back in front i still have pics of the car with motor inside with ya i put a -307chevy in it ok you laugh here!!!i gave our sales guy fred a ride one day he sat on a milk crate!!we were at a light and he said get on it i stomped it he didnt get a chance to blink when i looked over all i saw was his shoes he was in the back that lasted for about 200 feet that was it out of motor good stuff Jake wouldnt let me put the car in the shop it sat outside in the rain snow sad sad cars body was slicker than snail snott but rest was well... ok we were in the shop talking and i still dont remember what i paid for the car or if i traided something for it to much livin and to many bitches ahhhh girls i still have the front stainless nerf bars ....

 

i'm going to try and get with mike (jakesrakes) and scan his pics. this holiday stuff is killing me...

 

Any update on finding the car?

 

i talked to him today, mike's getting his pics scanned, we'll post as soon as we get 'em. these are the most recent images of the car.

we now know that we're looking for a red car with a straight axle and (maybe) centerline auto drags, converted back to a stock engine placement.

 

After reading the HAMB you know as much as I do.

his pics are still not 'digitized'. i ordered a new scanner over the weekend, when it shows up, i'll go scan 'em myself...
