2009-current. a bunch of parts for a chassis build at a friend's/my old mans shops. In a hibernation of sorts trying to decide if my final holy grail build will be a '32 roadster, Model A roadster or, Roadster pickup on 32 frame. probably won't start on it till my son is out of the house in a few years.

Started with my O/T 1996 Toyota 4 Runner I bought new. 362,000 miles later (original engine etc. knock wood) I am still driving it 2000 miles per month on my work commute to and from Nashville.

On Topic: Started with a 33 Plymouth Coupe and ended with my 48 Pontiac convertible.

Does this mean I should not have paid IRS taxes for the time period of Jan 1 2000 to Dec 31 2000? As in Zero don't count?
And when I remember back to the "70"s" Was 1970 really the "60's" or was it the first year of the "70's"

  11. Been driveing the same 47 chevy for over 3&1/2 decades. Both of us are showing a lot of wear.

10 years ago I was driving an 87 Tercel as my daily putt-putt, had my 64 El Camino in the garage in pieces, bought it in 1990 when I was 16, and my 69 Suburban C20 family hauler, 4/6 drop, shift kit, etc.

My usual ride these days is my 55 3100 work truck, but I still have the Camino, mostly done, for when I need a big block fix. There's also a 63 Corvair in the mix for good gas mileage (got 27-28 mpg when I was driving it daily) and a 72 240Z my folks bought new. I am currenly working less than 2 miles from home, so most often I just ride my bike, as long as it's not raining.

I began the decade driving a resto-modded 63 Nova SS and ended driving my 68 Impala Wagon. I put 30,000 miles on it since it's my driver.

  15. Geez, whatever! If you can't figure it out, then you'll have to live with it. Go ahead and tell the IRS they owe you all the $$$ for 2000. Go for it.

The ZERO year is the TENTH year! Listen carefully. Zero is NOT the first year.

Got the one in my avatar on the road in late '90 and still driving it. Hopefully the next decade will see some more of my junk rolling. My knees got so bad the last 2-3 years I didn't make progress on anything. Now with 2 new repacements installed and rehabilitated I'm going to make it a goal to get moving on my projects again.

    To help with your explanation.
The end of the first 12 months was at the end of year 1AD (presuming there was a 1AD). The end of the first 10 years (a decade) was at the end of 10AD, the end of a century was at the end of 100AD and the end of the millenium was at the end of 1000AD, 2000AD, etc.
When you look at it like that, surely the end of the decade would be at the end of 2010??
Now back to the Rod & Customs

A decade can begin anywhere. If you choose to go with 2000, that's the first year and the rest is as follows:

    1. 2000
    2. 2001
    3. 2002
    4. 2003
    5. 2004
    6. 2005
    7. 2006
    8. 2007
    9. 2008
    10. 2009

So if you arbitrarily started January 1, 2000 as the beginning of your decade, then December 31st, 2009 would be the end of ten years since January 1, 2000 and January 1, 2010 would be the start of a new decade.

    For the record:
    2000 1956 Nomad
    2010 1956 Nomad, 1947 Ford coupe

Back in Y2K I was still riding my '47 H-D Bobber, this year I'm driving the same '62 Holdens that I've driven for the last seven or so years.
A decade before Y2K I was terrorizing Sydney streets in a high 13's running, early '6o's style '59 Cusso.

Ten years ago I had just purchased my 1956 Fairlane. I was driving a custom 1968 Ford F-100 fe bigblock - c6 - 9" rear differential black paint and tan bucket seats. I was 19 years old on newyears eve of year 1999-2000. I was also building a chopper.
Ten years latter I have parted with several toys to take care of my wife and two kids. 2010 came in and I am glad to say that I am still rocking the 56 Fairlane and at 29 years of age am still as cool as I ever was at 20. Cool even when cruising the family Chrysler minivan when my babe is resting in the shop.
