Happy New Year Guys! I'm from the Detroit area and have owned a 55 Tbird for the last 4 years. It was a little rough when I got it, but have done most of the work myself to make it a fun "DRIVER". I've joined and quit two Tbird clubs because of the cliques and snob factor. I told them to kiss my Irish ass! It's about the love of cars, not your financial statement. Just bought home a 55 Fairlane Club Sedan in running condition but in need of a lot of attention. Anyone out there that can lead me in the right direction for some of the hard to find pieces to put her back to what it deserves, I'd like to hear from ya. Mike
Welcome to the HAMB from a fellow 55 Fairlane owner and Irishman. Post some pix of your cars when you get the chance. What kinds of parts are you looking for? - Speedy Jones
Hello, I just picked it up 2 days ago, and both doors need the entire locking assemblies (already found replacements in NC), and trunk and hood lock complete assemblies. The car has a 302 with a C4 trans, and if I decide to take it to stock or build the engine up, it'll do for now. Body is decent with all the chrome and stainless. Could use a correct 55 bumper (56 on the car now) and a correct front bench seat. Right now the goal is to make a safe driver while I work on all the appreaance. I'm not one for frame off restorations. I kid everyone that mine are "Meatball Restorations". I have the most fun driving while working on them. I'll post pictures once I figure out how!!! Take care, Irishii Mike
Hey Speedy, I just loaded half a dozen pics and I'm sitting here arguing with the computer about how to attach them. I'll figure it out. Need the entire hood and trunk latch assemblies. I can't find anyone that repops them.
