What to do when its -26 degrees outside

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by vetteracer, Jan 2, 2010.

  1. G'day all, I guess the best thing to do when it is that cold out is curl up with a computer, a kitty cat lap warmer, and a diet coke and read posts on the Hamb.

Here in sunny San Diego it was a beutifull day. Unfortunately I spent most of it in the ER with a tiny piece of metal in my eye. I would rather have been in -26* weather. :D (Yes, I was wearing safety glasses.)

    Nice!

  14. Is there really such a thing as 26 degrees or are you just kidding?

  15. G'day and it is now 27 degrees below zero. At this temp if you throw a glass of hot water up into the air it freezes immediately with a loud cracking sound. At this temp your engine oil looks like tar. At this temp....I guess you probably get the point.

it would have to warm up about 20 degrees here to be 26 degrees quit your complaining that sounds great

  17. Kiwi Kev,

26 degrees would be a heat wave for him, it's 52 degrees colder then that in North Dakota, its 26 degrees below zero!

  18. G'day, Ummmm I think that the current temp of -33 degrees is bit colder than your 6 degrees.

26 below zero is too cold for near anything. There's one survival technique I appreciate. I thought in sub zero temps you're supposed to snuggle up to your sweety and make some heat.

  27. Only -1 in Milwaukee. The shops at 68 degrees and plan on being out there a good 8-10 hours today. Plan ahead, build a really well insulated shop and ignore the weather. I will admit it is a cold walk from the house to the shop though.:D

HA!...it's eight above zero here in sunny Michigan. A veritable heat wave, I might go for a bicycle ride this afternoon. I'd love to go out and work in the shop, but my kids car is dead out there with a broken gas line and a rusted through frame, it ain't getting moved. I can't afford the natural gas it would take to heat the shop up to working temps anywy!
