Just bought a can of pro 15 paint and can't get the lid off. Afraid if I get rough and get the lid of it won't reseal and thats death to pro 15 I'm told. Any ideas or should I just take it back and try to get it replaced?

You should take it back and get the name brand POR-15. Much better results.

I like to immediately seperate it into jars. I save them for just such an occasion.

Get forceful with it. Every can I have ever bought had the same issue. Put a piece of clear plastic wrap between the can and the lid after you reclose the can. It will make this issue go away the next time you decide to use.

Sounds Like I need to get tough with it. I'm afraid ther won't be much left of the lid. The jar idea may be my best bet.

  9. Turn it upside down and put a screw in the side under the rim. Replace the screw and store the can upside down. Works everytime.

It sounds like this is real common with PRO 15. This is the first can I have purchased.
    Really appreciate all the advise.

Don't open it. Use an awl to punch a hole in the top - pour out as much as you need, then immediately seal with a piece of tape. Moisture in the air cures the paint. By never opening the can and resealing the little punched hole, not enough air will get inside to cause a problem, and the shelf life of your opened can will be years.

Another great idea. I don't think PRO 15 requires much stirring should be able to shake with out a problem.

  13. I take a screw under the rim and one on the lid to help it flow a lil better! I've never had to stir mine!

Don't shake POR 15 paint, It will get full of bubbles which will take forever to smooth out. Stir gently.

  15. And i always thought the stuff was called POR-15 , not PRO-15.:D
